I do occasionally go to Rick's when my friend bartends it that helps.

And me not being able to afford them has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. I have every right to be mad at locals being pushed out to make room for shit meant to be friendly to transplants.

I understand it seems that I'm irrationally hating these people but until your life has been directly affected by their taking over you will literally never understand

My local club sold out to pander to them because they gentrified the neighborhoods around it and wanted the money from yuppie transplants who drink on mommy and daddy's credit card all night so they removed all the band stickers that had been there for years , painted everything , and stopped playing metal shows, the legendary Haunted attraction The House of Shock closed down and got bought by tranplants, transplants priced 3 of my friends out of the neighborhoods they grew up in because they got gentrified by transplants and most recently the spot my family has been going to Mardi Grad for 40+ years is being bought by transplants who are turning it into condos and won't let us stand there after this year

So forgive me if I feel the need to vent about this

Ive been to over half of the states in the US and Ive also traveled to ten foreign countries. Its safe to say that I experience more culture in an average year than you have in your entire life.

I live in Louisiana, about 40 minutes away from NOLA, and I go to the french quarter roughly once a year. It's a fun place but I would not live there.

My family has been going to that spot for more than 40 years it was a family friend's business who's selling it to turn it into condos and my local club did more than just scrape off some stickers, they completely redid the whole club and stripped away any signs it was a metal club for the sake of attracting yuppie transplant college students who drink on mommy and daddy's credit card all night and the other two owners bought out the owner who booked all the metal and punk shows to ensure no more Metal or Punk plays at that club

They were raided by the cops they normally kept good and bribed, again meaning someone paid the cops more than the club owners for those raids. The owners closed it because they did it for 25 years straight and were tired of all the work. Not because nobody came, up until it's close it was one of the most famous and popular haunted attractions in the literal world, I don't know WHY I have to keep explaining this to you people, I have explained the situation with the House of Shock over a dozen times already but of course you all just love missing the point of everything I say purely for the sake of it

Because they did that intentionally by putting almost all of the money they made back into the haunted attraction and allowing themselves each a 10 grand allowance at the end of each year, the owners already have 6 figure jobs each and didn't need the extra money. The House of Shock was never intended to be a serious profitable business or anything more than a giant organized Halloween party from a bunch of secularly famous people here in NOLA.
