That just looks like a normal officer shaped hat. And why else would the Purple Pigtail Toad have her hair coming out the top, but the other Toads with hair have it coming from underneath the hat? Just the way all the other hair is shaped looks like the Mushroom head is something that's on their head. And then proceeded to release BotW which fits in none of the timelines. Nintendo doesn't give a shit about timeline consistency between games if it gets in the way of what they want to make. At most the games contain some cool references for fans of the series but they never go out of their way to make sure everything makes sense. Didn't they openly admit that they completely ignore timeline Placement during development? Swear I read that in an interview.
