Poll of the Day > Dude what the heck? When did they change the rules of Field Spell cards?

For as long as I remember, playing a new Field Spell destroys the one currently in play, regardless of what side of the field it's on. I'm playing Legacy of the Duelist and tried to use Wasteland to get rid of Weevil's Forest, but it didn't get rid of it and now both field cards are in play.

If you're in a special event battle then they haven't actually played a field spell, that's just the field fyi.

I don't remember. But apparently it's been a rule since 2014.

Since March 21st 2014 for the OCG and July 10th 2014 for the TCG, both players are able to control a single Field Spell Card. Before, it was only possible to have a single Field Spell Card active on either side of the field, and when another one was activated, the previous Field Spell Card would have been destroyed via Game Mechanics.

But I got a pretty big lol in Yugi vs. Mako Tsunami, when I saw this:



They actually turned that nonsense into a card.

That is fucking hilarious. Maybe they'll make a card where you can drop a floating monster on your opponent's monsters to destroy them.

tbh, when they stopped just making shit up and had the manga/anime start to follow the rules they set for the CCG, a lot of the fun was lost. I can completely understand the decision from a marketing standpoint, though... although I now kinda want to release a CCG where it's just pictures, names, and play costs on the card and players just make up a lot of the other shit.
