After losing his most recent match a few weeks ago they discuss the possibility of CTE and Ippo decides to retire from boxing. They've been foreshadowing it for years, but still made me super sad to read it happen.

I don't think an ending for the series has been announced though so if that doesn't happen the only thing I can see happen is a timeskip and maybe a daniel bryan situation where he passes all the doctors tests and gives one more go at it

If it does end up ending here that'll be a very frustrating outcome for one of my top 3 favorite series.

I've been following ippo only recently and man that match was a heartbreaker. A prime example of "reality ensues" to be sure.
