Looking at buying another one. I know you cant buy em new, but saw several models on Amazon. Is the slim version good? I had the old model of one that played the PS1 and 2 games but it crapped out on me after a couple years. Just wondering.

Slim is pretty good. Had a super slim but the top slidey thing fucked out after like 2 years and it got pretty hot. Plus I think Marth Koopa or someone here said the ports melted for some people

I'll take the top loading super slim any day of the week. I had to pry open one of the previous models open to get my disc out one time after the system crapped out on me.

This. The less moving parts, the better. You CAN get your old PS3 fixed but I thought it was common knowledge that they'll just inevitably break again in the near future.

Yeah until the slidey top messes up and a little worn down piece of plastic prevents your games from playing

Slim is the best, or a backwards compatible phat model
