MH has deserved a built-for-console version for a decade now, so I'm glad Capcom is actually being rewarded for listening to fans and building something that doesn't compromise on the core of the franchise.

The quests for the gathering hall aren't separate anymore. You're just automatically forced to play baby mode, either because you play solo and the game forces solo difficulty where everything you do staggers the monster and it dies in a couple minutes, or because you have four hunters. There's no way to fight against multiplayer-scaled monsters solo. And as someone who went from soloing level 140 guild quests to this, that's really disappointing.

Monsters are easy to fight but the battle is still long as fuck. I remember I could kill a monster without him having to travel 4-5 times in the old games. Fucking Anja roams a fucking lot.

Good, it deserves it. So far it feels like Capcom really knocked it out of the park. Fun to play, looks great, and not on a handheld.

My -only- issue so far with it is that the larger maps can make finding the monster you're hunting a pain. The scoutflies are great but when I'm hunting a Tobi-Kadachi but am only finding tracks for Anjanath or Rathalos it can get annoying real quick.

Are you serious? That's unbelievably disappointing. So disappointing that I might just give up and return/sell the game.

Part of what made it so fun and satisfying was the difficulty. If that's gone, then the game loses part of the appeal tbqh.

This is my first Monster Hunter game since the others have been Sony exclusive or mainly released in Japan (afaik?) I'm finding it fun but I definitely get the difficulty complaints from longtime fans of the series. There is never any good reason to pigeonhole difficulty in any game, it should always be selectable from absolute newbie to hardcore veteran.

Most of your time is spent on hunts, people shouldn't be spending 40 minutes in town unless they don't know what they're doing.

There are supply gathering quests which aren't as fun but they're easy and fast so no big deal.

That's unfortunate. :/ I know veterans were excited by the reveal of Tempered monsters, thinking they would be a waiting mechanic for G Rank, but then it also turned out they're basically the same as their normal counterparts, just more damage when in rage mode only.

I really love World and I'll keep doing so, but it's not my favorite MH. Maybe its G Rank version will be. Until then, I'm still really happy I imported XX and I'm still rooting for its localization.

We don't know how they'll do G Rank at all yet, though I won't be surprised if they opt for a big DLC expansion thing.

Supposedly there's free DLC coming which will include new hunts. I could see them releasing G rank as part of that.

F2 ended at HR 6 then FU went to 9 for G Rank I think.

It's been a bit. I seem to remember Freedom having G Rank at HR 5. My PSP is completely dead though so I can't check.

Playing around with World it feels fine as a game. Some of the changes are nice but some take a bit of getting used to.

I don't think the MH games have artificial difficulty. You can carry tons of healing items and get 50 minutes to hunt a monster. Plus you're not encountering bullshit monsters that can one-shot you unless you're doing like the super late game stuff only meant for people who want extra challenge.

It's challenging enough for me - I've fainted several tmes already and I'm only at Tobi Kadachi...but I haven't played a MH game since Tri, sooo.
