It may be a match between friends, but Omega/Ibushi is 100% happening sometime this year. It's been confirmed that it was planned for WK until the Jericho thing popped up.

And I'm going based off of VOW saying it's going to main event a major show, since their inside stuff on New Japan is almost always right. If it's main eventing a big show, it's going to be for the title. There's really not another big show that fits the timeline other than Dominion.

I just don't see them ending Okada's mega reign solely to give Kenny a small reign and to let Ibushi/Omega be for the title.

I don't know that I'd call six months a small reign. That's all the way through the G1 and everything.

What gives me pause is that Okada is two defenses away from tying Tanahashi's record and three from breaking it, and it wouldn't surprise me if they want him to break it. That'd still be possible before Sakura Genesis, but he'd have to defend it at both Strong Style Evolved and the Anniversary Show, and it seems more likely he'd only actually defend at one of them.

Also, they had no Rousey follow up? I guess it is hard since she's filming the movie, but man. If they kept up with the momentum of hype from her then I imagine people would tune in far more. I feel like they rarely ever capitalize on their biggest storylines from the PPVs the following day.

either way, Raw tonight was pretty good. really really enjoyed it. a few great matches, good focus on wrestling rather than over-reliance on promos and predictable filler matches

EDIT: I mean, a lot of the matches tonight were predictable in the results, but they weren't quite as predictable in how they played out and they ended up being surprisingly entertaining brawls. like titus worldwide vs. the bar.

DB has initiated a SD Top Ten ranking system where each week the Superstars will in kayfabe vote for who should be in it, and they cant vote for themselves

Like if AJ Styles came out with a different fruity pebble variety of shirt, hat, and armband every week he'd get more hits. I'm not saying Cena wouldn't be #1 but there probably wouldn't be as massive a gulf between him and Styles assuming equal amounts of merch.

I think this is a bit of a stretch, especially if trying to apply it to somebody like Styles. You'd maybe have a point if it was like, Curt Hawkins or somebody really new. If there's a wrestler you want merch for, you're gonna search to see if it exists. You're not gonna search for Cena merch if you don't actually want it. Likewise, you're not gonna... Not search for merch you want just because you don't know if it exists or not.

Yeah, I'd argue for most wrestling fans that buy merch on a more than rare basis, it'd be more the former than the latter. They're gonna search to see what's available for wrestlers they like. And that definitely explains why the list includes inactive and dead people. >_>
