I'm a million times bigger than them. I used to get upset walking into a web outside, but then started thinking about how I completely messed up the spider's deal, and felt bad about it. (actuall I only ever ran into the single random strand of web they made when moving to a place to set up their web, but you know.) First time I saw one and decided to spare it was a couple years back. it was just dangling its way down in front of the door on its web. so I reached around, opened the door, and blew on it. it flew out the door, i closed it, and it ran off. since then I've only killed one spider (that I know of) but it was accidental while I was trying to get it outside. I wish I could tell them "I don't want to hurt you, you just can't stay here." Interesting note: I'm not at all afraid of Harvestmen / Daddy Long Legs. My fear of spiders is incredibly specific.
