It's not always easy but hasn't monster hunter always been kinda casual Idk man I played MH1 and it seemed somewhat difficult. MH is like 90% casual and 10% "holy shit difficult." The vast majority of hunts aren't really hard and nearly all the game is spent grinding them for parts to upgrade equipment. The endgame, though, usually consists of 1 to 3 crazy difficult hunts that require a coordinate team of people to take on in order to have a shot, which rewards the chance at parts that can be used to... upgrade equipment. MH is basically like a MMO without the dailies and all the raids are set to heroic.
