I once went to my general practitioner just to look at an irritated spot in my lung that was lingering from a cold. But she thought my heart sounded funny and wanted to do an EKG. Except she didn't know how, and went to get help. Soon half the building was in my room because no one fucking knew how to do an EKG. I just wanted something for my lung. My heart was actually fine. One, systemic viral infection is a general way saying that you have a virus that is affecting you're entire body. Two, if the ambulance already came and left, they did wrong. It's not their prerogative to inspect your house to verify your story. They have a legal duty to take you if you call and want to go to the hospital. I used to be an EMT, so I know a little about it, you could say. Bottom line, call 911 back. Tell them you are afraid that you might be a danger to yourself. They will come and take you. Do that, and if they don't call the cops and tell them briefly what's going on and you're wondering why the ambulance left you behind or didn't show up. You need meds and to talk to a therapist to help get you under control. Trust me. Call 911. If the ambulance gives you problems, then call the cops and tell them your position. They said they didn't see Sepsis on my sheet and that I'm just anxious and wouldn't do anything for me at the hospital. All they did was pulse and blood pressure. It is not an option for them to check your place and verify your story. It is enough to tell them that you think you feel like hurting yourself. They can't come in and inspect anything to try a corroborate what you are saying. They are not detectives, they are not the police. Like I said, call them and tell them you're afraid you might dangerous to yourself. If they give you crap for ANYTHING and refuse to take you, then call the police. They will intervene. They'll call the ambulance themselves and make sure your're on it, or they may even just give you a transport. Also, if the ambulance refuses to treat you when you've asked for help and you don't turn them away at the scene, you might actually be able to file a lawsuit against them for failing to render aid, after you get stable of course. I turned them away when they said "we can take you to the hospital, but we won't do anything for you medically. You're fine" Ok, well then that's why they left. They actually said the right thing. Because that's ultimately the last thing you'll hear from the ambulance. You're at a point to where you can still refuse consent to treatment. If you refuse treatment, they cannot force you. So please call them back, tell them your deal briefly, and when they come back, TAKE THE RIDE! Seriously man. If you've been treated and released for your physical ailments, the only thing you can do about that is follow your discharge instruction, get your meds and take them, then put yourself on bedrest. You fucking up your apartment due to an anxiety attack is different from if you happen to be sick with a virus at the same time. You told us that you fucked up the house due to a sense of anxiety that feels like it won't let up and may get worse, like way worse. You concentrate on that part. You already know what to do for your virus. You anxiety level is a different situation. You are now asking to be treated for a possible mental disorder that's proving to be very serious in nature. Call the ambulance and talk only about your high anxiety levels, what it's made you do so far, and where you're afraid it might lead. Then when you get to the ER, tell them the same thing, you are there now because of intolerable anxiety levels. Don't turn the ambulance away. I've done similar things in your position. One thing that actually helped me after I calmed down even slightly was start to clean up, despite my constant anger and depression I had at the time. If you can't do anything else, force yourself to start cleaning up just a little bit.
