Aziz, from this recollection, was a complete scumbag during this entire encounter.

However, "Grace" does have a duty to protect herself, as well; she should've extricated herself from that situation sooner. It is strange to me that, even after the initial forcefulness and the exchange of oral that left her feeling violated, she still longed for them to sit, relax, and for him to "play with her hair."

No man should treat a woman this way, but she is an adult. At some point, you need to start protecting yourself in these encounters.

Coercion is absolutely a thing. On the other hand, we are talking about Aziz Ansari. Let me repeat that: Aziz Ansari.

Remember Bill Cosby. Beloved actor and well known amazingly good guy. Turns out he may have date raped loads of women. Remember Rolf Harris, beloved childs actor? Turns out he was a paedophile and then wrote songs in jail taunting his victims.

Simply because someone seems benign or good, doesn't mean they aren't capable of doing bad things or can intimidate someone into acting as they wish (even unintentionally, with power positions etc)

Nah, friend, I dont think you can compare Aziz Ansari with Bill Cosby. Cosby is a much bigger dude and hes from Philly. He played football and basically every other sport in school, then he joined the military. He presented himself as a lovable comedian, but if a woman said she felt intimidated by his presence, I would definitely believe it. Lol, Ansari is a good representation of beta soy boys. My sister-in-law could bitch slap him into unconsciousness. All of this also disregards the difference in how these guys achieved sex. Cosby used drugs to knock women out. Ansari? He asked (Told?) this woman to blow him. And she did... twice!

I dont know about this Rolf Harris person, so Ill have to look him up.

British (australian) children's TV show host with the BBC. Involved in the child sex scandal they had.

And my point was more that just because someone seems something, doesn't mean they actually are. Perhaps he was purposely intimidating, or the woman was simply too afraid to voice her issues properly. Just because one woman could, doesn't mean all are equally as capable. Sure Ansari doesn't seem very intimidating, but when alone with him it could be very different for the lady in question.

For most of us? Sure. But intimidation isn't just about physical size. This is the same bullcrap people spout when men talk about being sexually assaulted/raped. Just because you can't fathom X doing something, doesn't mean it is impossible.

Any number of factors could have led to the woman being scared.

With so many loose ends in her story and decision-making at the time that happened, it all just sounds like bullshit. She probably had high expectations when they went to his apartment (why the fuck else would anyone end a date at someone's home if not for a makeout session or more?!), it didn't turn out the way she wanted because he went all 12 year old perv on her, she confronted him via text later, he apologized, the end.

She's a friggin adult woman with the power to say no and leave and he's just pipsqueak Aziz Ansari. Sorry, but she's painting herself only as a dumb person who had an uncomfortable albeit consentual sex encounter motivated to bash Ansari's cred, not a genuine victim.

This whole thing is really sad.

Like, on one hand, why couldn't she just leave? I always hear these stories where they say they "wouldn't let them" but it always sounds more like they were just too timid to stand up for themselves. You had no intention of fucking him, it sounds like you had an awful time at dinner, why would you go up to his apartment? Just tell him you can't and fucking go home?

But on the other hand, why the fuck would you want to fuck someone who was clearly that uncomfortable?

What the fuck happened to people to make them so fucking pathetic?

Sexual encounter aside, I'm sure he felt that the date was going well. A horrible date is not always a mutual experience.

My greatest frustration with this is something I experienced on a routine (non-sexual) basis with my ex. She could never muster up the courage to say "no" outright whenever I wanted to do something or we were making a decision. She would "drop hints" as to what she wanted or didn't want and expect me to be a fucking mind reader. All the while a simple "no" or "I don't want to do that" would have saved a lot of headache. This is something that women do way more frequently than men. Not all women do this, but it's so incredibly frustrating when it comes up 2 months after the fact in an argument and you had no idea it was an issue, because she never said it was.

People seem surprisingly unaware of coercion or someone being too scared to say no. Not surprising for CE though.

So what about this sounds like coercion to you?

The ignoring repeated cues, forcing her hands to his genitals. Being a famous person compared to her could make it hard for someone to forcefully say no out of fear of someone you admire shunning you, etc.

Apparently, certain CEmen ITT need a woman to not only say no but walk out of the place as well, otherwise they feel they're justified in taking it as far as they please. Being told no twice is not enough for them to take a hint. Being told that the other party's feeling forced is not enough either. Heavens no, listening to that would mean they're beta males.

I wasn't there so I can't say one way or the other, but her rather sheepish recount of everything that transpired leads me to believe that she did not, in fact, outright say no and probably danced around the issue out of fear. Communication is important. A failure in communication requires 2 parties.

You realize there's potentially more to intimidation than raw physical size right? Not making any comment about this specific instance but it's dumb if you think intimidation can't exist without being notably physically superior.

It's not really a secret or a surprise that a horny guy will try to get 100% of everything that a girl will voluntarily do.

Which is what Aziz did here.

Sounds like he basically just repeatedly badgered her with "Sex now? How about now? Now? How about this? This? Wanna do it over there? Here do this" and she did like half the things he asked.

Doesn't sound like any force was involved, and she could leave at anytime, evidenced by the fact that she did.
