the truth: 30 is still pretty young, not as much as 20. the threshold is about 40 for old.

Are you wealthy or at least well off and have a stable job that isn't consuming your life? If so, you're fine. The only people who should be fearful of being 30 are the unemployed, uneducated, friendless and socially awkward.

Sounds like you may need to learn a more profitable trade and get a bachelor's while also learning investing stocks to increase your income. If the first option is not possible for you either due to lack of time, then at least make a hobby of investing, it's like playing the lotto only in this case with a bit of knowledge you can greatly enhance your chances at winning or at the very least securing some comfort by having some kind of money being saved up in case you break your limbs, your car, get fired or your house burns down.

I'm 26 and feel sad that I'll likely never be as attractive or energetic as I was from 17-19

Of course I could just stop eating fast food every day and exercise...and maybe sleep for more than four hours a night.

I have 30K saved up.

Then you're in a better position than most, be proud of that and never stop saving. Life can really fuck a person up one day and society will not care about you in the slightest outside of wanting you out of their sight or to just hurry up and die.

What caused it? lack of social life, money, meaningful accomplishments? Alot of young adults can get depressed for not living up the standards society demands of them by certain ages especially when you see someone younger than you or the same age as you making it look so easy.

I'm 24 and the older I get the less I care about getting older. When I was in High School it terrified me. Now I don't care. It might be because a few years ago my depression went away and I've been acquiring different hobbies. Maybe you just need more hobbies. More specifically, how about more talents? Family, friendship and relationships (dating, sex-life, etc.) are all things that can get harder and drag you down as you get older, but your hobbies and talents die when you die. Accomplish more. Get good at things. Be proud of yourself.

Edit: Also, everyone I know in their 30s says it's a lot like being in your 20s but you have more money.
