Zero soldiers were unemployed after the end of WW2 because there were millions of people needed to rebuild the Western world and the American soldiers got manufacturing jobs. There were so many available jobs that Germany imported millions of migrant workers from various nations, including Turkey. Sadly, the Turkish migrants have not integrated well into German culture and Merkel is fucking shit up by taking in way too many migrants way too quickly whom are basically incompatible with German society and will be pariahs.

My Grandpa fought in WW2. He had a cushy job at a steel mill after the war.
Adjusting for inflation, he made more than a highly college educated person with tons of experience in a good field would today.
And he didn't even graduate high school.

To this day he gets a check from that steel company.
