How's it compare to the other games and how does the best and worst cases compare to like 3-5 and 2-3?

SoJ's epic case is the best case since the OT. The game is excellent but it's also kind of uneven. It has two top tier cases and the rest are anywhere from "pretty good" to "meh."

I'd say play it if you liked AA5.

It's a positive experience but case 4 is ultimately the biggest hill to climb with how they handle characters
though the concept of the trial was nice and getting a certain ally helps it

the best case ranks right up there with 6-5

the worst case might be comparable to 2-3 in quality, but it's not as long

cases are really long in the game overall, which is frustrating

but the grand finale is worth the price of admission alone

Case 5 is a plot-intense, complex, and exciting case with a great ending. Spirit of Justice is worth it just for the last case alone.

If that's not enough to pursuade you... there was once a poll comparing Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. Spirit of Justice got like 80% of the vote.

It has some serious pacing issues overall but 6-5 is one of the best cases in the franchise and while pretty divisive for the fanbase I thought 6-2 and 6-4 were pretty fun too

I just beat it after being wary, 100% worth it.

6-5 is almost unfair because it really should have been two cases. As it is it's basically a lock for the #1 spot.

The only reason the nightmare that is 6-4 isn't as bad as 2-3 is that it's blissfully short and involves 1 great character. Also it's so pointless that it doesn't taint the other cases in any way. Basically may as well have not happened.

6-3 is probably the best "normal" case in the series, excluding chapters that are specifically designed to build up to the finale.

I love Cornered 2013!

The music is good, though maybe not to everyone's taste. It's all twangy, what with the setting.

There is one song that played one time in the game for about one minute in the last trial that will be a "never forget" moment in AA history.

DD's Cornered theme is probably my second favorite one!

SoJ's soundtrack is cool because you basically have a different soundtrack for each setting, so there's good variety and style.

AA6 is good, play it. I don't believe in saying more than that, I don't want to tell you how to feel about every case in the game

never look up AA-related stuff when you're not caught up!

AA6 has some dope character themes, the same objection themes from AA5, and OK court music. i'm always gonna enjoy the pursuit themes, but two major characters' theme music probably make up my favorite tracks.

SoJ has a good soundtrack. It's probably my second favorite soundtrack, only behind AAI1's incredible soundtrack.

SoJ as a whole is a really solid game. People sing the praises of 6-5 but the other cases have pretty good qualities about them. It's my second favorite AA game.

hmmmm.... it's okay but it's no Simon Blackquill theme!

When I started AA5 I was not sold on him and my initial impression of him was a deviantart "original character" Edgeworth edit with too many gimmicks (samurai AND birds AND prison?), but he's really grown on me for reasons I can't quite explain. Honestly it could be the music.

There is at least one mention of primary plot cannon in 6-6 so it's by definition less filler than 6-4.

the DLC case in DD is easily the best non-main case in any AA game by far. It's definitely a top 10 case and could make a case (heh) for Top 5.

DLC case in SoJ is just fine.

5-6 might only be the 4th best case in its own game. I usually rank it third, but I could argue for fourth.

But DD is ridiculously good.

Beat Dual Destinies last night and bought Spirit of Justice. SoJ's home screen icon is not as good as DD's.

Also I think I'm a bit disappointed with DD's finale. Fullbright being dead and the spy having taken his identity didn't really add anything to the story other than being a twist for the sake of being a twist. I also don't get why the spy didn't just kill Athena and clean up the scene of the crime. Why did he shoot the space rock into space? Or did he just not have the opportunity to recover it. Also, the DNA on the space rock wouldn't actually do anything unless the spy's DNA was already in the database or something. And why not just have Fullbright take off his glove to show he had been stabbed to prove he was the phantom?

Agreed on all counts

Fulbright could pull the whole von Karma "I claim the stab on my hand has nothing to do with UR-1," so just having a stab wound in the same place would just be treated as circumstantial, not conclusive. He shot the rock into space because the plan was for the rocket to be destroyed in space and never return to Earth. If the Phantom was posing as a space center member, there's a decent chance they have some data on his DNA. It would just be under an alias. At the very least, the robots have facial data on him. I imagine he didn't kill Athena and clean up the scene of the crime because he panicked due to his own blood being spilled on the rock and he wanted to get out as quickly as possible before anyone else showed up. He wasn't trying to cover up the fact that Metis had been killed anyway. Plus, Athena couldn't have identified him since he was wearing a mask.

Now Fulbright being dead all along was a twist for the sake of a twist, but the other things do at least have plausible explanations.

That addressed a lot of my qualms but I still think a lot of it is sloppy. They should have addressed the hand. Also, leaving the rock in the capsule is super dumb since anyone could have opened the capsule.

I agree they could've handled it better. It wasn't as clean of an ending as the OT epic cases. I do like you can see the scar through Fulbright's glove the entire game and mostly you'll just think, "oh hey it looks like the AA logo that's neat" without wondering what it even is

I would guess the Phantom was confident enough that nobody would open up the capsule again since they were getting ready to launch that day. The guy's a risk-taker though. That's one of his defining characteristics.

I played through maybe half of 6-1, closed the game to play Mario Maker 3DS (super underrated btw) and when I went back to play SoJ realized there is no autosave and the thing that shows up in the bottom right corner is peobably a loading icon. Whoops.
