It didn't get much press in the aftermath, but this was probably the closest presidential election in living memory (perhaps ever) other than Bush/Gore in 2000. He has almost no room for error and has done nothing to expand his popularity since being in office. His poll numbers, which were never all that good, have dropped by ~10 percentage points since being elected. shadestreet 11/03/17 6:08:42 PM #48:	I don't think he will run again, assuming he makes it to 2020 (I think a successful removal from office via impeachment is very unlikely, but I wouldn't be surprised if he died of a heart attack or has a stroke given the combination of this age, health, and added stress level). IF he does make it to 2020, still don't see him running again. He will be what, 76 then? I would think he would want to live out the last years of his life doing what he loves doing best, and being President isn't one of them. He got the notch on his belt, that is all I believe he really cared about. I would expect him to declare he has accomplished more than all presidents combined and there is nothing left to do, and then throw his support behind.... Donald Trump Jr? Possibly Ivanka? I would suspect a few reasons have contributed to people "turning" on her. 1) She was never popular to begin with. I believe it is accepted she was one of the least popular candidates to get the nomination in modern history. (possibly Mondale? But that was an incumbent content). I can't think of a single liberal friend who was enthusiastic for HRC. On the other hand, a small number of my conservative friends were guzzling the Trump Kool Aid and couldn't get enough (and to this point, I believe, all of them are still on board). 2) Her actions and comments post-loss haven't been doing her reputation much benefit. There seems to be a considerable amount of blame and not taking ownership of the failure of her candidacy. 3) Trump is one of the least popular presidents ever and in turn this is causing people to need someone to blame. She was the only possibly candidate who could of lost to Trump, and conversely, Trump was the only possible Republican who could have lost to Hilary. I think there is well deserved anger towards her considering.... 4) The information coming in showing she gamed the DNC to ensure she was the nominee.
