good job purposely limiting the conversation to congress as if that's the only angle that matters

you know exactly what youre doing

Okay. Point out the Marxist Democrats in general.

Most idiots who'd call themselves "Marxists" actively hate Democrats and "liberals"

That certainly hasn't stopped them from overtaking platforms in Democrat strongholds like Seattle

http://www.seattleweekly.com/news/a-guide-to-seattles-new-left/

the Democrat party is being consumed by this trend

It could have been and should have been a Democrat win. The Democrat campaigns were so abominably bad and misguided that they lost a race they couldn't have conceivably lost.

Jeb or Rubio also would have beaten Clinton. The idea that she was some uber locked candidate for the election when the earliest of polling had it as a toss up is a laughable retcon.

Regardless that doesn't matter. Policy enacted by Republicans when they control the government is to blame on them, not the Democrats.

Yup, as we all know, instead of holding the GOP accountable for their own actions when they control both houses as well as the presidency, it's really the Democrats fault.

Party of personal responsibility my ass

It could have been and should have been a Democrat win. The Democrat campaigns were so abominably bad and misguided that they lost a race they couldn't have conceivably lost.

Fine, but Democrats DID lose, so now the criticism (or praise if earned) goes to Republicans. Just because one side is wrong doesn't make the other right.

Democrats are also responsible for devolving into the mess they are now and causing a reactionary pushback to the increasingly toxic ideas they've been offering

What people defending this seem to fail to grasp is the concept of employers matching contributions to 401ks.

Also WHY is anyone defending this? It's actively negative to the middle class just to benefit the upper. If these cuts were gonna help the middle and lower classes that'd be a different story, but we've seen Trump's plan. That's a giant bunch of handouts to him and his cronies with scraps for the rest of us. How much of a partisan hack do you have to be to blindly defend this?

Democrats might have had a chance to make this case but they decided to go the route of identity politics and Marxism instead. They have no credibility anymore, and the nation is too bipartisan to start thinking independently.

Clinton alone ensured their failure.

Really, how fucking stupid did Democrats think I was that I would take one look at the corporate lapdog they were peddling and think "by golly, this could only serve to benefit me".

Sanders is the only one I put any stock into, and he turned out to be a fraud too. Same shit both sides, no political party is an ally of mine, not a goddamn one.

So the republicans want to eliminate the estate tax and block the middle class from saving for retirement. It is feeling an awful lot like 18th century France in here. It is possible for wealth distribution to become so top-heavy that the system collapses. They should be careful.

Yeah, even companies like Macy's and Whole Foods offer 401(k)s. Sure, I can't come close to maxing it out, but they're very ubiquitous. Not only is this is terrible from a policy standpoint, it's awful from a political standpoint: it's Republicans going after 401(k)s for the sole purpose of saving the wealthy more money. That fits well in a sound-bite too.

If your household makes more than $75k, yes they get a tax cut.

And though we don't know exactly what incomes will fall into which of Trump's brackets, it's safe to say people making under 30k will also get a tax cut.
