so I'm looking at the original mercs roster

1: 55 [15%]

and then tv/film:

Now of course, that's including supports in the low tiers, hence those numbers being higher in both rosters. Overall, looks like we're about on track with the original mercs in terms of breaking up the tiers, which is cool. We're behind a bit in 3/weeks (which is no big deal, since even then that's still the biggest category)

We actually have 5 more 7s than Mercs IV, despite only having almost exactly 1/2 the total roster size (we have 176, Mercs IV had 358) so I guess we're more than set on those

(though to be fair, Thor and Zod are still iffy, HIM will likely end up a pure support, Smoke Monster is likely getting canned altogether given its initial response, and Sylar MIGHT end up getting dropped to 6/week, so that 14 is likely going to fall considerably.

John Matrix is as seen in Commando carrying a Desert Eagle, an Uzi, shotgun, M60 machine gun, hand grenades and Claymore mines.

"I eat Green Berets for breakfast! And right now I'm very hungry!" (Start of Battle) - Every four weeks, John Matrix may reach peak Schwarzenegger ridiculousness. Rather than beginning with his team, he will start in the center of the terrain, remaining stationary and randomly spraying his guns at any enemy he sees for 10 seconds. During this period any opposing attacks will somehow entirely miss him. When 10 seconds are up a grenade will mysteriously appear at his feet and knock him all the way back to his team's starting location, though somehow this will also do no harm.

New Ability

Remember when I promised to kill you last? I lied (Pre-Battle) - Every other week, Matrix may offer his assurances to a preselected enemy that they will be the last person he kills that week. That merc will battle convinced that Matrix won't kill them until everyone else on their team is dead, although that isn't true at all.

ok but what do you tier those Frost Giants at? I wouldn't put any of them past like 4s (none of Thor's friends had much trouble handling them, and I wouldn't put any of those guys close to 7s). The big creature's probably on par with like a high 5/low 6 (I think Eren Yeager could take one head to head)

the only super impressive feat there is that final smash at the end and the massive shockwave it produced, but there was also like 30 seconds of preparation and focus going into that attack and it's otherwise a pretty far outlier from his normal attacks.

I think a Powerpuff vs. Loki would be interesting. I think the Powerpuffs are definitely more powerful but they're also very easily tricked, even moreso than Thor (well, Buttercup and Bubbles are, Blossom's a little smarter) and Loki's probably less likely to underestimate them (and also less hesitant to kill a child)

Abilities

Oh, I'm sorry, but NOBODY DOES EVIL THE WAY I DO! (On Purchase) - HIM may only be assigned to a villainous merc. When HIM is assigned to an ally, they he will give them a brief lesson in psychological torture. As long as he is assigned to them, they will have the following passive:

Splendidly evil, isn't it? (Passive) - _________ has received a lesson in psychological torture from HIM (Powerpuff Girls). They will have an expert knowledge on how to psychologically torture their opponents in addition to their normal skills.

You think you're so smart? Then let's see how good you are on the SATs! (Pre-Battle) - Once every three weeks, HIM will teleport a randomly selected enemy merc to Pokey Oaks Kindergarten classroom, and will torture them the good old fashioned way, by forcing them to take the SATs. The merc will enter I side topic where they will have three hours to take the SATs reading, writing and mathematics sections. Each section has a minimum score of 200 points and a max score of 800 points, putting the possible range from 600-2400. If the merc cannot score at least 2000 points on the SAT, as voted on in the topic, they will be KOd.

The only safe way to refer to this king of darkness is simply... HIM! (Start of Battle, Limited Use 2) - When rostered in a high-tier match, the merc may bring HIM in as a free assist:

HIM is as seen throughout the Powerpuff Girls (1998), the 2016 remake, and Powerpuff Girls Z. He can change forms and size at will. He will grow in strength by feeding off the fear of others, and may induce hallucinations in those whose minds are not powerful enough to reject them. He cannot telekinetically move the sun. He cannot enters people's dreams, nor can he posses his enemies. He can, however, possess NPCs and inanimate objects in the terrain. In battle, he will always focus on psychologically torturing his enemies, and does not need to be defeated for the enemy team to win.

Upgrades

New Ability:
This is a villain so evil, so sinister, so horribly vile, that even the utterance of his name strikes fear into the hearts of men! (Peacetime) - There can only be one king of all evil. HIM is so unequivocally evil, no other so-called villain can even be compared. Once every four weeks, HIM may establish himself as the one true villain. Every other villainous merc in the game will be considered neutral this week, leaving HIM and his assigned merc as the only villainous mercs remaining.

New Ability:
Oh, Mr. Quackers, you are so smart. Quite a positively evil scheme you've hatched. (Start of Battle) - Once every 5 weeks, HIM will follows Mr. Quackers' advice, unleashing his most evil plan yet. Before the start of the match, he will unleash an awful red gas into the air. This week, upon the teams encountering each other, the gas will destroy all love on both teams, replacing it with pure hatred. Every merc will feel hate every other, and will attack everyone around them, abandoning the ideal teammate clause. This will affect everyone except HIM's merc.

Terrain

Future Townsville - The ruins of the City of Townsville after HIM takes it over, far into the future, as seen in the episode "Speed Demon."

Captain Mal Reynolds is as seen in Firefly and Serenity, carrying his Liberty Hammer gun and a sword he is minimally trained with.

"You're a good man." "You clearly haven't been talking to anyone else on this boat." (Passive) - Mal is considered a Neutral merc as long as his What Does That Make Us ability is off of recharge. If it is on recharge, both Mal and the merc last chosen for it will be considered Heroic until the recharge is over.

"What does that make us?" (Start of Battle) - Every week, Mal may choose a preselected ally from his team's roster. That ally will not be eligible to be rostered this week and if he is rostered, Mal will mysteriously not show up as he's a big jerk.

"Big damn heroes, sir." (Trigger) - If the prior ability was declared and Mal was rostered, Mal and his chosen ally will appear 30 seconds after the teams first meet behind the enemy team. The ally will be considered Mal's assist and take no roster slots. What Does That Make Us will then go on two week's recharge, plus a week for however many upkeep slots the ally was over the week's tier limit, if any.

Reduce the time Mal takes to make his entrance to 15 seconds.

Serenity - A mid-sized transport vessel floating in space. All areas are accessible, though the ship can't be left.

River would be really weird. With the right equipment and enemy mercenaries she could like, potentially be a 5-6. River with a lightsaber for example would be pretty ridiculous. But if she's just with herself and an axe she's kind of a 3 in my opinion.

Movie feats to Kotor + Tortanic feats? Revan in a godstomp. He has:

A) Energy shields so he's much tankier.

B) Healing.

C) Mindfuck capabilities.

D) Debuffing.

E) Buffing.

F) Speed.

I could go on and on. Purely using what is seen in the movies, Revan would take Vader to the fuckin cleaners.

River Tam is as she appears at the end of Serenity carrying her Reaver axe and sword.

Part of the Crew (Passive) - If Malcolm Reynolds is on the same team as River, he can add River as an additional ally for his Big Damn Heroes ability whenever he uses it.

Sad Little King of a Sad Little Hill (Pre-Battle) - Among River's many talents as an enginereed killbot assassin is an ability to read minds. Every three weeks she may put this to use by preselecting an enemy and subjecting them to a mind-scanning and subsequent brow beating about their many faults. They will be enraged at the presence of River and will attempt to murder her in the week's fight to the exclusion of all else.

Upgrades

Ability Upgrade

If River uses Sad Little King and the battle also takes place on the terrain of Serenity, her mind-screwing can optionally extend to convincing the target merc that she has somehow become the ship itself (declared after terrains are revealed). They will focus on destroying Serenity instead of the other team until River is actually seen by them.

Harry Hart is as he appears in both Kingsman films, with all gadgets, weapons, and feats therein.

"I'd appreciate it enormously if you could just leave us in peace, until I finish this lovely pint of Guinness." (Pre-Battle) When he's with his team, Harry wants to focus on discussion. Every four weeks he can warn the opposing team not to cause rabble by using damaging abilities.

"Manners... maketh... man. Do you know what that means?" (Trigger) If any opposing mercs had the gall to use a damaging ability, Harry will launch a bar glass right into each of their faces. They will begin the fight with damage from this attack and knocked out for the first 10 seconds.

Upgrades:

FREEBIRD (Start of Battle, Limited Use 3): Once every seven weeks, Valentine's SIM cards can go active, driving the world itself mad with bloodthirst. In this week's match, all tier-eligible mercs are automatically rostered with no limit. All fighters will begin the match in the center of the terrain moving at double speed, berserk, and trying to kill anyone and everyone else, ideal teammate clause be damned. Instead of teams receiving votes, voters will vote for which character wins the Battle Royale, with that merc's owner considered the victor overall. (If multiple mercs tie for the most votes, whoever had the most mercs in the tie wins. If it's an even split, the match is a draw and each owner receives one infra.)

In addition, the guitar solo from "Freebird" will play on loop throughout the terrain, overriding any other music abilities, even those that would otherwise override it. Won't you fly... my... free...bird... yeah...

Terrain: Garrison Church -- a Kentucky hate group's hall of worship, as seen in Kingsman: The Secret Service. Attackers start at the entrance; Defenders start at the pulpit.
