I was in third grade. I remember our teacher turning on the news. We watched as the second plane hit. I honestly believe it was one of the most eye opening experiences in our class' lives. We matured that day. We saw history and the true capabilities of evil.

i remember all extra-curricular activities being cancelled. Our school's football tam had a short 10 - 15 minute practice, in which our coach told us "go home, be with your family, enjoy every moment you have together"

i was still dumb as fuck and didn't understand the significance, but looking back on it, that was a very straight-to-the-point speech that we needed at the time

Awesome game and still one of my favorites.

It was my senor year of high school and we got to go home early, swung by the mall and picked up Advance Wars (having just been released) and played the hell out it while watching news coverage.

I worked on the 79th floor of the South Tower, which was the second tower to get hit and the first to come down. I would have been killed along with everyone else that morning except I was running late. I stopped off at my local precinct to cast my ballot for NYC mayor, which ended up saving my life.

Around 8:40, I got on the train heading to Park Place, which was about a block from the Trade Center. The train came to a stop and the driver came on the PA to let us know we were at a standstill because there was another train stopped in the tunnel in front of us, and that there had been an explosion at the WTC.

Naturally I got off and headed back above ground. Didn't know what the cause was, if it was natural gas or something else, but when I looked up and saw the fire and carnage where my office used to be I felt totally numb. All I could think of were the people who worked on those floors I saw everyday, all the bankers and financial guys who made a habit of getting in early.

That all changed when the second plane hit right in front of me... I won't ever forget the sound of it. The panic... the screams. We ran like he'll let me tell you.

I was 3 years old during 9/11, so I can't really relate, but it is still stomach-churning to think that such a horrific event was caused by our fellow man. It is a bummer that people could have so much hatred in their heart because another group had different beliefs.

I try my best to not let myself have that same level of hated for any group or individual.
