Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon had some of the best cards at the time, if you were willing to get a bunch of useless shit. I remember buying like 20 packs as a kid and the most notable things I got were a skull dragon like card and an Exodia arm.

I love how Butterfly Dagger being banned effectively bans Guardian Elma as well, lol. Not like she was ever any good, but still. >_>

Out of all those, I think Magic Ruler wins.

CED, Yata Garasu, etc, are all super powerful, but needed to be used in conjunction with other cards to be truly terrifying. (Seriously, Yata is pretty useless by itself)

But almost every card listed under MR fucks over your opponent pretty bad right out of the gate, with zero or insignificant cost.

But there's a difference between "having a powerful effect that screws up your opponent early" and "instantly ending the game without your opponent being able to respond". It's possible to recover from getting two cards from your starting hand Delinquent Duo'd away, or one of your monsters being Snatch Steal'd away from you. Difficult, but possible. But in the days before the banlist, there was NOTHING you could do once you were in the Yata Lock. Effects coming from the graveyard were practically nonexistent at the time, and with nothing in your hand/field and no drawing... unless you chained a Waboku to CED's effect and drew a card to save you in that one last chance, you were fucked.

Last Turn and Self-Destruct Button are the only cards on this list that come even close to rivaling Yata's level of bullshit.

Invasion of Chaos and it should not be a debate. Cards that are relevant to this day. The others let you do crazy shit especially nowadays but Envoys and Sorcerers just shit on everything.

Almost a five-way tie now, with LOB leading by one point & MRD trailing by one.

Even with Pot of Greed and Monster Reborn and the likes, Invasion of Chaos had CED, BLS Envoy, and even Compulsory, which can get rid of way more things in the current meta than Raigeki/Dark Hole ever can. There's no big reason for LOB to win over IoC
