Meh, I expected XV to struggle but I've been able to focus on Prompto because Noctis is usually fine... but he cut it really close today

Noctis has been cutting it about as close as Prompto.

They got what looks like 1 main supporter from me/you, and then some secondary support if enough other characters are safe.

Neither are really going to go anywhere even with a higher support from both of you. They would really need to outlast a lot of other stuff probably.

As the years go on FF fandom has been built more and more on nostalgia so it doesn't surprise me that FFXV is faltering

Eh, I don't think it's that so much as FFXIII's lukewarm reception and FFXV's development time that slowly pushed people away from the mainline series.

Plus, there are so many other options out there now if you want an FF fix.

I've been trying to throw Noctis and Prompto some saved but Vivi/Lulu are my main 2 now and they aren't exactly hitting it rich so far this year

The interesting thing is that FFXII is almost treated like a redheaded stepchild these days, but debuted very strongly (winning the contest the first year the characters were eligible, not to mention subsequent high finishes for Ashe, Basch and Dr. Cid).

Other than Lightning it's never done anything special. Snow is booted and can't even come back, Sazh always fails to live up to his potential and the rest of the cast is an afterthought.

I tried to support all the XIII characters, but it became obvious almost none of them had any real backers. Too many people hate Snow, Vanille and Fang are always like 5th tier for few their supporters or lacking enough to make it to like 3-4 saves needed and Sazh barely ever has any support.

2. Lightning
26. Snow

59. Vanille

Eh, I mean it's somewhat comparable I suppose. It's certainly better than XV's I mean but yeah. The only problem is really that XIII has never had much of a good run for any character other than Lightning. In fact, unless I'm mistaken that 26th placement by Snow and 28th placement by Sazh are the only time any other XIII character has placed in the top 30, outside of the Lumina outlier from last year.

I forgot Hope, you're right. He has indeed, I just forgot him because he wasn't in the first year the game was eligible for whatever reason.

Oh damn, he wasn't. Wow that's odd. I thought he was. Out of the XIII characters he's unfortunately 2nd in stats I think since he literally has more dedicated support than Fang, Vanille, Snow and Sazh combined

Hope finished top ten the one year Lightning did not, so FFXIII has had at a top ten finish every year it's been eligible.

Both games debuted characters by going to the finals though, so that's at least one thing they have in common. That's about it though. The "I love Lightning more than life itself" fanclub pretty much ignores the rest of her friends >_>

Like I said I try, but they just don't have the support. As soon as we hit 3 saves Fang is probably dead with Vanille shortly after her since people somehow get Fang > Vanille wrong here. Hope doesn't seem too strong this year so he could flop out too. Serah might make it to 4 saves, but I don't have much faith in that even with BK and voltch saving her.

Voted for her in both appearances in the finals. Don't look at me.

You misunderstand. I don't have any delusions of grandeur. I just wanted Vayne in the contest, same as I did Baralai. Baralai far exceeded by wildest expectations with a top 30 appearance. I just want Vayne to survive and be a part of the contest, not much else. Going to do my best to get him a "decent" spot in this, but I'm not going to drop my support of my end game to do it.

Wiegraf is never going to be a contest force but he's my boy and I'm going to support him while he's here (though, these days [since m3] I probably like Delita at least as much)

as for Vayne, he's not my favorite but there's probably a dozen characters still in that I'd gleefully boot before him
