I didn't know until just a minute ago so I thought I'd post for the handful of Twin Peaks fans on the board.

The idea of Dale running around solving all the loose ends we have left for two hours after how long we've waited for his return has me so fucking excited.

David Lynch is like 80 years old. Hoping he wraps this up gracefully and caps off one of the greatest careers in film.

I guess it's no suprise to anyone here, but I really didn't follow what happened at all.

Specifically the Diane-Cooper sex scene and the alternate names on the note. I don't understand the significance of those. Also, did Cooper essentially erase Laura Palmer from the timeline to prevent her own murder? I guess I'm a mental lightweight.

The first hour seemed to be so long due to all the jam-packed awesome stuff and then the 2nd hour felt so quick, possibly because my mind was melting.

WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!

Definitely not the end of Twin Peaks, that's for sure!

I feel really empty inside right now. My sister is getting three hours of sleep because she stayed up to watch the finale with me and she's pissed. XD

I definitely feel like there has to be another season planned. David Lynch may hate explanation, but he's not the sort to create a shitload of plotlines and do nothing with them. The amount of plot threads left hanging here is kind of staggering, actually.

All of that said, episode 17 was pretty darn good. I'm going to pretend 18 is the pilot of a 4th season. >_>

Part 17 was a masterpiece and the best episode of the entire series. It was a fantastic conclusion to The Return.

Part 18 was... interesting. Definitely not an ending and there pretty much has to be a season 4 now.

And hey, if there isn't one, we can just all pretend the series ended with 17.

I remember the names James and Linda being mentioned earlier in the show (can't remember if it was a 1990s or 2017 episode). They were especially memorable to me because they're the names of the parents of my brother's childhood best friend who committed suicide.

Anything that featured young Laura Palmer had me almost entranced, especially this scene

I don't think I've ever seen an actress pull off looks that terrifying.

I will not pretend that I have any idea what I'm talking about, but my perspective was Coop has seemingly entered a parallel universe along with Diane. The entire love scene was setting up that neither of them are who they were anymore in the previous universe, even though they have carried over. In this universe they were both completely different people in their lives leading up to that moment. They still have their memories of the previous universe they were in, but they are also fundamentally different people with different backgrounds in the current universe they find themselves in. Because of that, Diane can't bear to look at him while they fuck, because they aren't who they are anymore, the connection is no longer the same. Their names are different, the slightly off-kilter demeanor of Coop, etc. imply that they are now different people. Everything that then happens with "Laura" then seems to confirm that. Although the ending clearly indicates that "Laura" has some recollection of her parallel life so who fucking knows how that works.

I don't know man, I'm probably completely wrong.
