I made fun of a video game someone had mentioned because of its absurdly long Japanese title, and I was modded for, and I quote, "insulting the beautiful Japanese language".

I've had moderations where they never even reviewed the appeal.

In other cases, it went back to the original mod and of course they're going to uphold their own decision. Kinda defeats the point of having a system if the same guy decides twice.

The few moderations I receive are almost always fair.

That is literally every single moderation I have received, which has been a lot.

It's usually just something absurdly stupid, like accusing me of trolling when all I did was not like something or delete my comments and put me on warned status for talking about how terrible the mods have been.

Apparently they never do any wrong, ever. It reminds me of corrupt cop culture.

Honestly says everything about how ridiculous they can be, as there is nothing in the TOS that says "no insulting the beautiful Japanese language"

They literally just make up their own rules on the spot and always try to pretend like it's an actual rule when they get called out on it lol.

The biggest problem is when you get an SJW mod. They can't differentiate between "genuinely offensive" and "polarizing opinion I personally don't like."

No, if I get modded I usually see the point. Once I was modded because someone thought I was mocking Japanese accents, but it was a completely accident and I was very confused what I was being modded for. That being said, I don't really take these things seriously so whatever.

Pretty much all of them were bs.

One, I called a public figure (not even a fellow user here) a nazi for denying the Holocaust. Apparently insulting public figures (with correct labels) is against the TOS, too.

Another time I called a user here a nazi after he said Germany lost its way after WW II. Later in the same topic he ranted about Jews controlling media and accused me of being part of the JIDF (Jewish Internet Defense Force, I had to google it). I'm agnostic, for what it's worth... I got modded for calling him a nazi, none of his posts were ever hit.

Then another time I used the mythical bad R-word -- no, not the one you're thinking of...the one that rhymes with "tape" that apparently is not allowed to be uttered despite that never being stated anywhere in TOS before and I avoid using at all now. To describe the excessive phone charges I had to pay for, for very little service in return. Even after linking to a dictionary to prove that the word has more than one fucking meaning (in this case, a financial related meaning) and nothing in my post was in any conceivable way talking about sex, it was still upheld as being "offensive" to victims of "tape."

All of those stood.

I think the only one that I believe I was right on that got upheld was when someone made a joke about a person's recent death, and I said it was funny. The mods' defense was that making fun of a person's death is never allowed, which was parroted every time no matter what I said, even asking if we're just not allowed to discuss the Darwin Awards.

Other than that, I think every moderation I disputed was overturned, because I usually don't do so unless I truly think/know I didn't do anything wrong.

the response was basically "don't argue with us, we don't care if what you posted isn't explicitly against ToS. we say it's wrong so it is."

there also must be a bronie amoung the mods because they delete any negative thing i say about mlp

I'd say 97% of my moderations are fair. Seldom dispute them (though I do have one in dispute right now). Don't think I've ever had one overturned, but I don't really care or keep track.

I got modded once for pointing out how police in Rotherham let literal pedos go free and got modded for not being specific enough that UK citizens were implied to have agreed with that, which they didn't. When I pointed out that only an absolute dumbass would think that what the police do is always agreed upon publicly, it did not make a difference. I can only assume that most mods and admins are pedophiles.

Yes. Once. I never did accept it as a moderation. But then, afterwards, the head Admin explained to me WHY they viewed it as such. It may be up to debate (and it was), but it came to the point that it was a matter of their very definition of the issue at hand. So, by that alone, I "lost" the discussion.

Gamefaqs has truly horrendous mods. This site would actually be better without the mods. The mods support trolling and silence genuine conversation here.

Some other general rules.
Do not post anti ps4 comments on the ps4 board. Anti anything else is OK.
Do not post pro pc topics on the pc board, only anti pc topics and pro console topics are allowed.

My most recent mod was for posting something "offensive" because I criticized middle eastern fundamentalist terrorism. Apparently the mods here find it really offensive when you don't like terrorists.

That is probably because most of the mods here seem to be total fanboys with incredibly thin skin. They always support people who are just like that at the expense of everyone who isn't a complete and total tool.
