There are forums on playing Candy Land optimally, but reading through I'm not sure if they are joking or not. Seems there are only two optimal paths.

Well, since the basic game is literally nothing more than drawing cards and seeing what happens...

But if you really want to play Candy Land competitively, at least play the variation where each player has a hand of cards and picks which one to play.

Newer versions use a spinner. My niece got it for Christmas and I've had to play it with her several times.

I guess you could practice how to spin it for the exact color you want at each point?

I feel like they'd be on your ass for trying to rig the spin to make it land on what you want.

First step would probably be to remove all the cards that warp you to the different locales around the board -- although I'm not sure if newer versions of the game even still have those cards anymore.

On a random note, this reminds me of how my mother had to remove the Sorry cards in Sorry because I'd get so bent out of shape when it happened to me.

My parents absolutely hated playing Chutes and Ladders with me because of that one that goes from like square 70-something back down to 20-something lmao...though I hear newer versions don't have that life-ending chute anymore ahaha

Vegas has slot machine "tournaments" so you CAN if you want. You could also just roll the dice once and have the same results.

It has no mechanics outside of RNG so there isn't a point to it.

Theres actually a pretty intense variant that puts tictactoe boards within each tictactoe section. And to win the game you need to win three small boards that make a line through the master board.

There was another rule to, but i forget what it was. I do know the last move made has some influence over where the next move must be made.
