Current Events > Day 2 1/2 on braces. Feeling the tension already.

First off, God, they are sharp in some areas. My inner mouth below the lips have a small cut kinda now. A lot of my teeth feel a numbing zing when I bite down on them. Pretty much all of them from the middle to the left side. Two years of this. What the Hell did I step into with this? I hear it only gets worse.

I've been through braces for about 2 years.

Getting them tightened sucks.

Braces breaking from something completely BS is annoying, and you wait for the next appointment.

It doesn't limit the foods you eat as much as they say, but the first month can be a burden until your mouth doesn't hurt and you learn how to eat again.

Removing them is a godsend and you forget you ever had them after a few days.

Yeah. I've went against the dentist and actually ate bread last night. I took it small piece by small piece and put it into the far back of my mouth and chewed lightly on the edge of the tooth there. It worked.

But yeah, I am afraid of tightening them.

omg the expander was the worst
living with a metal roof to your mouth that each day you had to use a metal needle-like rod to push into and literally expand your jaw/teeth.

I also remember the spacers hurting so much since they felt like you always had a piece of meat stuck in your back teeth

omg thank god I don't have braces anymore. ugh.

I see it as an opportunity to eat healthier and get on that vegetarian drive I want to. Won't happen probably, but it will definitely help. I definitely had a very low hunger drive at work today. I didn't want to deal with that shit with picking and cleaning.

Okay, I'm kinda getting worried. Here's a paint sketch of what my teeth were like before braces and what's going on now:



In the before picture, my front two teeth were there with the two teeth beside the front two set back a bit in my mouth.

I just got home from work today and now, the teeth in the front have kind of pushed towards the set-back teeth to the point it almost looks impossible that the dentist could have even have put the bracket on those teeth.

Kind of worried here. It's like that after picture, but the brackets are pretty much sandwiched between two teeth.

They aren't back in the office until the 8th of September. I am thinking about calling them to stop by and just show them visually to get an idea here. :/

Yeah, but I wish you guys could see them. They are pulling close fast and starting to squish the brackets. Thinking of doing a sudden stop tomorrow to the dentist to have him look. I just have to. Really worried about how much it has moved and the damage it could potentially cause if my concerns are right.

What kind of extra teeth did you have?

I think it was 2 extra adult teeth stuck in my gums including one that was literally sideways blocking like 3 other teeth from coming in lol. I also had one adult tooth come in fully behind one of my baby teeth lol.
