Board 8 > Anybody have the New 2DS XL?

I'm considering purchasing one. I haven't played a handheld in 10 years, but from what I'm reading the 2DS XL is completely backwards compatible from DS to 3DS libraries, so there has to be a very extensive catalog now. Has anybody gotten their hands on one and taken it for a whirl?

Also, what games are must-haves on the platform?

I guess it's only been out for a day so probably not many people have one. However I'm still very curious about the library and what games could be a selling point.

I mean I don't know about the system itself, but if you really haven't play portable games in a while then it would be an insanely good purchase. The combined DS/3DS libraries is one of the greatest in gaming history.

3DS is kinda like the DS in that I couldn't really tell you a single game that's an absolute must-have, but if I go down one tier and tell you what you really should have, I'm gonna be here all day.

I'd pick up Picross for sure. RPGs I'd be a little hesitant on because I don't think I could compete one outside of something like Pokemon on a handheld platform. I tended to bounce off handheld and mobile games quickly.

Does the DS have an extensive online store in the same vein as PSN and XBL?

Define 'extensive.' It has the majority of 3DS games on the eShop, outside of some physical exclusives like Theatrhythm and Kingdom Hearts, but it doesn't have old DS games except for the rare port. And I mean rare, I think there's a total of 1 (Inazuma Eleven).

The New 2DS XL sounds like the best handheld in existence
Weight less than the New 3DS XL, doesn't have stupid SD card placement, can play the New games, cost less because it doesn't have gimmick no one cares about

Only two downsides I hear are that the stylus sucks (not really a problem if you have another, but sounds like you don't)
And that the speakers are in terrible location..but this is something I have to check

I'd consider getting one but I already have a New 3DS XL and occasionally I enjoy the 3D, and Nintendo only lets me have my digital purchases on one of them so I can't do it.
