probably.

I remember getting a character to level 120 in Dark Souls 2 for the first playthrough, while I have a character at level 132 in Dark Souls 3 in ng+2

Not counting DLC you can get to 90 by halfway through the penultimate area without any major farming. Honestly it felt faster to me than leveling in any of the previous games.

This is literally Backstab: The Game

I feel like it wasn't nearly this easy to backstab in the first and the second game had the weird grabstab so it's a moot point

The broadsword has the highest straightsword AR (as far as I can remember, anyway) but it's quite a bit shorter than other swords and doesn't have a thrust attack.

Fuck this graveyard area with the respawning hollows

They're not the issue but the fact that like five gremlins drop from the ceiling every three feet and then these grim reaper guys that can't be stunlocked but can't be blocked due to massive bleed damage but attack so fast that rolling gets you fucked

Hmm I'm 76 and I've almost finished Ashes with only Soul of Cinder left of the main game. It is my second play-through though so I knew what to skip and what to not bother with as well as mainly spending my souls on boss sets.

I guess I'm looking at it about 15 characters in where I've got my weapon selection and fashion already figured out ahead of time so there's no need to deviate from what I need. I always save AoA and TRC for last, and by the time I'm heading on to TRC I'm pushing past 100 pretty reliably. I can't really remember my first run through for any comparison though.

That makes more sense I guess.... I suppose I'm being foolish by trying to do everything on two different characters rather than just making specific characters for specific set ups.

What do the golden people by the names of teleport locations mean? There's two by some and three by one

Should I be doing that poison swamp Farron Keep place before Cathedral of the deep?

It's an indicator for how active the area is. The range is 0 to 3, and more sprites=more folks there. Basically an indicator for hot areas for invaders/co-op.

You can go either way between Farron Keep and the Cathedral.

He gives you 5 free levels. But you have to kill yourself and make yourself turn into an undead ballsack if you want em. 20 deaths gets you the 5 levels.

It all leads to an alternate ending if you want it

Does going undead have a disadvantage?

Why do the newer games make alt endings so complicated and unknowable? In 1 you could just walk the fuck away but in these games it seems like you gotta do a bunch of obscure shit to be able to do it So stupid that you have to kill Aldia if you want to walk away from the throne in 2

Visual only (standard beef-jerkifying), though you can remedy that with a ring. Also Maiden in Black 4.0 will look away from you until you approach her.

Also it's only 7 deaths.

Yeah, the hollowing goes as such with every number after zero taking a death:

0 (first "Draw out"), 1, 2 (second "Draw out"), 4, 6 (third), 9, 12 (fourth), 16 (fifth).

Stat scaling goes to absolute shit after 60 barring the occasional weapon, so after a point the only real value comes from Vitality stacking because fashion.

What are these fucking fat fucks with the bigass sticks and spellbooks with the stupid fucking voice lines? They're literally everywhere and half the time their clubs hit me even though my roll looked perfect, and I can't shield because they drain my whole stamina bar. Jesus christ it's literally the only enemy I've died to in the past three hours of the game.

I don't know what to do in the cathedral after killing the deacons. I hear the sound of hammering way above in the cathedral but I can't find anything at all that I'm yet to explore.

you only need to fight the deacons for the doll, but besides that, they feel out of the way for all of that.

but when you were in that swamp, you had two routes - the one that led you to the Cathedral, and the other one that leads you to the first lord of cinder boss

Crystal Mage or whatever was a super lame boss btw

Literally run up to him and hit him until he disappears and goes to another part of the field so you runover and him more and after a while he makes fake copies

It was like a bad Zelda boss.

always forgive him, though, so he can be a vendor.

One thing that I appreciate about 2 in retrospect is that the openness let's you beeline the armor and weapons you want for your build

I guess it's more expensive to upgrade weapons since you can't upgrade armor anymore? Until I find Elite Knight or the cover armor I'm gonna use this Mirrah Armor I think it's called (it has a sick Cape), Herald Legs because they look better, and a sick mask

I'm not sure if I can pull off Elite Knight in this game though. I haven't put one point into VIT, I've basically just been supercharging STR after getting a lot of VIG at the start

Tfw bought Siegford's armor for him but fucking Patches didn't have the decency to steal that delicious Zweihander, piece of shit

Upgrades vary in cost. Unfortunately, large weapons cost more. Infusions are also fairly expensive early on.

I think Greirat sells a Zweihander after sending him out to loot the first time.
