I used to be a dweeb like you. Always pushing my glasses up my runny nose. Then I got Lasik. Now I wear sun glasses when its sunny and goggles when I swim. I never utter the phrase "wait lemme get my glasses" or "my glasses, my glasses, where are my glasses?"

Quit being a chump.

You have a better chance of someone throwing bleach in your eye than the surgery going wrong.

I got lasik 4 years ago. It was fine after 2 years, but now it got worse I have to put in drops literally every 30 minutes or else my eyes dry up like the sahara desert

And every morning when I wake up it feels like I have bleach in my eyes until I put it new drops

I also recently developed bad astigmatism, which I never had before the surgery

It's expensive, I'm paranoid that it'll go wrong somehow, and they don't recommend it until after age 25 (I'm 23). Most places won't even take you until you're 25, at least where I'm from.

Dry eyes is pretty bad when it's severe and chronic

In my case it was seriously completely gone after 2 years. I never had to put drops in anymore, it was awesome. But then it all came back and it became hell

Another thing is that I still see well from a distance but it's become difficult for me to read

It's too fucking expensive. I just looked it up, and it's 2500$ per eye (Australian.)

If I had the money, I'd get it in a heartbeat. I don't care about the risks: my vision is slowly getting worse anyway.

It's expensive, the common complications(dry eyes and difficulty seeing up close) would be worse to me than having glasses on my face, glasses don't bother me since I've been wearing them for so long.

Every day you don't get lasik the cost goes up, the cost you're doing to your life wearing glasses/contacts

and contacts are the worst, having the to spend that extra second putting something in your eye

every. single. day.

yea, but subtle

you always gotta know where your glasses are, put them on before you drive, clean them, fix them, take them off, put them on

the cost may be low but every second you had to spend thinking about your glasses cost you

I just wear them 95% of the time I am awake. Have to wear glasses all day at work anyways. Would be more time lost doing this:

I don't even know why you guys are using '4 eyes' anyway, chances are you're still ugly as hell even without glasses lmao

I was hot in glasses

How often do you guys push your glasses back up your nose?

Per day.

Having to move them if your eye ever itches

Gotta wash your face? Take the glasses off first

Your glasses will move regardless, you'll have to adjust them eventually

And it doesn't matter if you can do other stuff while putting on it taking off your glasses, doesn't best never having to do that

Because I like glasses. I've always liked them and I think people look better with glasses than without.

Do whatever suits you but I prefer my glasses to lasik.

Actually, quick question, I once saw a "how it's done" video for laser eye surgery that involved this sliding-scalpel thing cutting off the top layer of 'skin' (forgot the technical term, let's just go with that for now) of your eye so the laser has access: Do they still do that or has the technique evolved to where it's no longer necessary?

Shit, why don't we just not wear clothes? You don't have to wash them, you don't have to dry them, you don't have to change them, etc. Win-win

doesn't work

you can't fix that, but you can make it so you never have to wear glasses

no skin was cut in my surgery, my eye was kept open with some clamp thing and the laser does its job

sup dude, and that's funny because in Hospital in Germany they reallyyyy pushed PRK instead of lasik, and even more so your eyes had to be perfect to get the PRK from 200 candidates they narrowed it down to 20. Very professional

they put on these special contact lenses so there is something inbetween your eyelid and the part they just burned off. I was sitting next to a dude right after we did it, kept scratching his eyes. One of his lenses fell of, dude started screaminggg in the waiting room. Contacts were itchy and annoying but I wouldn't pull them out.

Also my vision went on and off for about a month like some days I'd see 80/20 one minute and the next i'd go 10/20 it was super annoying driving. After a while it stabilized and now i'm constant 10/20
