I was totally out of Pokeballs this morning when I passed by a school with a ton of Pokestops. I decided to do go through them on my bike, and from just one ten minute run I got over 50 Pokeballs. (And that's not even including the other items I got.)

I actually just started playing in May. To be honest I don't even know why I play; I do like finding and catching Pokemon, but I've always disliked the competitive scene. It's always so technical and loaded with predictable teams.

It's pretty simple. Pokemon go is based on Ingress' existing portal network. Any location dense with historical points of interest, statues, memorial plaques and the like is going to also have a great many pokestops and gyms. Those of us that played ingress when Pogo came out already had a pretty big advantage from the get go.

Check cemeteries. They took most away but there is one near me that still has them. Been rolling through it a couple times when I pass by.

I remember in the beginning it was so chill at this one. Probably 100 people just chillen hanging out with these four stops lured almost all day.

perhaps, but we already knew where literally every Ingress portal was that also became a pokestop or gym and had access to the Ingress Intel Map for the entire world to find where the likeliest portal dense areas are in areas with which we are unfamiliar.

most of our standing gear farms in Ingress are also pokestop-dense locations. also, areas typically rich in wild XM in Ingress will also be high spawn rate locations in PoGo. I assure you that as an Ingress player that any player from either Ingress faction that was lvl 8 or higher that had any interest in PoGo skipped 2/3 of the learning curve at the beginning. we already knew where every stop or gym was on our regular routes from day one, aside from the random Sprint sponsored portal which only existed on the PoGo side...

For instance, this is what the Newburgh NY waterfront area looks like in our vanilla Intel map:



At least 9/10 of those portals are either pokestops or gyms.

Now this is the area around Main St. In Beacon NY just across the Hudson River:





So on day one, while PoGo noobs were still struggling to find pokestops and gyms a few hundred meters at a time as they went, we Ingress players already had a near encyclopedic knowledge of where pokestops and gyms were very likely to be for a county or 2 in any given direction.

im at level 30 and have only caught 1 snorlax. chansey was available more during valentines

I have 2 or 3 Snorlax found in the wild, none of them are that great, my only Chansey hatched from an egg, but damned if I could tell you how many km the egg was originally.

I'm still voluntarily in the building process right now; I haven't powered anything up and have only evolved one Pokemon.

On a personal note, I'm partial to my three starters: I chose Bulbasaur as my first, I hatched a Squirtle, then the day after that I caught a Charmander. Have yet to find a Pikachu though.

This game is a total uphill battle competitively, both as a newcomer and an Instinct. There's like three Instinct gyms in my town at any given time, and they're quickly taken out by one of countless Valors or Mystics.

But I didn't choose Instinct because it was easy..

As long as you're a really, really good player, you just can't say things are predictable in competitive pokemon. When he says its predictable he's implying that he has a solid idea of what sets/specific moves/ability his opponent is running without much effort, which very few people actually are able to do.

Most people who care about Pokemon are in college or older now.

Younger people are generally looser with their money than older people.

It's a perfect place to place Poke Stops.

i can solo raid easy 16000cp and under but need people higher than that

I've never seen anybody else at a raid but I'm not downtown in a major metro.

In other news, finally caught an Ash-hat Pikachu, which was the fourth I saw. Was kinda hoping they'd be common with this promo because I wanted a good IV Pikachu to evolve into Raichu (even if he'd still have the hat)
