Because she was charged as a youthful offender, she could face up to 20 years in prison, the same sentence an adult would if convicted. But Carter’s lawyer has asked the state’s highest court to either dismiss the manslaughter charge or require prosecutors to try her as a juvenile.

She's only like 1% responsible for his death at most, so hopefully she is only sentenced to 1% of how many years they would normally sentence a 20 year old woman with no prior criminal record for involuntary manslaughter.

She's a lot more than 1%. And I have a feeling you wouldn't be saying this if the genders were reversed.

He actually physically chose to carry out his suicide. He chose to talk to her. He chose to listen to her. He chose to be influenced by her. He chose to do it all. What kind of fucked up society are we living in where we blame influences for people's actions? What about the things that influenced the girl to behave as she did? Why doesn't she get to blame influences for her actions?

She's a fucking bitch who has shown no remorse for what she did. Based on that she deserves a few years. Like did you even read the texts she sent him? The guy would have never went through with it if it weren't for her.

her case isnt that simple. she encouraged him to do it. it wasnt a case of some bullying comments on facebook and then he killed himself.

she helped a distraught man kill himself rather then getting him help. thats why, its not rocket science

not only that, she helped kill him for attention so she could set up the RIP facebook page to get FB and twitter followers

People get charged for asking another person to commit an illegal act all the time. This is no different.

Because people can't ignore the truths I shed light on that they haven't seen. Sure, lots of people hate me for it, even though I'm really just a messenger. I show people reality, and then those people realize that reality doesn't align with hwo they've already emotionally reacted to a situation, and then they get mad. But ultimately people can't ignore truth.

I wonder how many people think about those at the other side of the keyboard when they type, "you should uninstall the game and go kill yourself." Literally happens everyday on intensive games like League of Legend and Dota 2.

Could they have been someone vulnerable that you pushed a little bit closer to the edge?

That's like saying that a man that manipulated a drunk chick into having sex with him is only 1% responsible for her rape because you have completely disregarded the fact that she was in no way in a proper state of mind to be in full control of her actions.

Same thing here. A person in a suicidal state of mind is not in full control of their actions leading up to their suicide. The fact that even though he was considering backing out of committing suicide while texting his girlfriend who was instead pressuring him to follow through makes her fully culpable even though he did the act himself.

It's very easy to be upset, actually. A suicidal person commits suicide, and someone else gets put in prison for it?

That's fucked-up.

Someone who would be alive if she hadnt repeatedly manipulated and encouraged him into taking his life, and then used his death to gain sympathy.
