It's not being made specifically to cater to the desires of every individual.

It's certainly not being made for the people who have been fans for over a decade. And it doesn't seem to be doing a great job bringing in new fans. Who is it being made for?

I mean I'm a guy who hated number 3 because it felt like a downgrade from number 2. Dlc has ruined fighting games. The only way to have dlc on a fighting game is extra characters. In other games it can be new story modes. Side quests. Weapons etc.

I mean in my mind. How does marvel vs Capcom 2 have 60 or so characters and then what was it 10 years later? I don't remember. On a new system. On a disc that can hold astronomically more space than the PS2 they give us like 30 characters? Why? I think everyone was disappointed at that at first. It can't be because of graphics. It's not like mvc3 was giving you LA Noire mouth motion capture and shit. It was standard decent graphics.

Now we got an even NEWER one. On not only a new generation of systems, but the SECOND version of these systems that now enable 4k resolution. And they have EVEN LESS CHARACTERS. Even less detail.

I feel like even with dlc. Video games in general seem like they're less less less despite me paying more more more.

Because the majority of those characters were already created. And ripped straight from other games.

MvC2 was like 10 games worth of 2D sprites from various Capcom fighting games crammed together, while MvC3 had to start from scratch with 3D models, so the roster modifications were reasonable and at the end there was a decent roster. Infinite is both reusing 3D models (and making them look worse) and cutting old staple characters (for petty reasons).

From what I've seen from the gameplay breakdowns, the mechanics themselves have a lot of potential.
