Am in a reading mood. My book history has basically been Harry Potter and a Death Note book.

I got a hold of Me Before You and loved it. Yes, I'm a sucker for that kind of genre.

So basically looking for books like those.

Is the Peculiar Children series any good? Any classics I should give a try?

I'll second The Name of the Wind. The Count of Monte Cristo is great. Don't have much to go on to recommend anything else. I primarily read fantasy and some sci-fi

let's see. based on the stuff you mentioned:

Six of Crows + Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo - Deals with a criminal mastermind and his crew trying to pull off a seemingly impossible heist. Lots of plots and counter-plots and scheming, and also some fantastic team chemistry/dynamics.

The Library at Mount Char, by Scott Hawkins - This might appeal to you if you liked the boarding-school aspect of Harry Potter. It's about a group of children that get taken in by an enigmatic man known only as "Father," who teaches them his magic. The story starts with Father having gone missing, and the children (now adults) trying to find him and trying to figure out what is behind his sudden disappearance.

Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite book, but it's a pretty hefty tome.

I love Harry Potter, and I liked the first Miss Peregrine, but not enough to want to read the other 2.

Ive only read the book once. I remember really enjoying it but at times it was a slog.

However the movie with Caviezel is one of my favorite movies. Ive seen it many times and I downloaded the audio from the movie to listen to when Im on the go. How do you feel about the movie?

I watched part of it on t.v. once but not enough to form a solid opinion. Jesus Caviezel did fit the part really well. I'll have to make a point of watching the whole thing

Thirding Discworld. It is easy to slip into at just about any point (there's a lot of books), enjoyable no matter how much you've read, and pretty much has something for everyone, assuming the everyone in question likes British wit, which should be most people, really.

To offer some kind of brief summary, it is essentially satire disguised as fantasy which takes place on a world that is, in fact, a disc. It has been around for decades. It is very good.

Pride and Prejudice is an amazing book. Don't let its chick-flick reputation deter you, it's hilarious and witty.

Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison is another good one, even if it's kind of hard to follow.

If you like dogs, Woodsong by Gary Paulsen is a must-read. Half of it is basically a collection of real stories told like you're sitting around a campfire with the author; the other is his account of running the Iditarod.

Hmm. So you're looking for lighthearted fantasy or sentimental books? Here are three that come to mind:

- Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind is a love triangle wrapped in a mystery with a hint of the supernatural. It's a book that dares you to put it down.
- Kyung-sook Shin's Please Look After Mom is about the tough, introspective questions a family has to ask when their their elderly mother with declining mental health is lost on a train one day.
Bryan Lee O'Malley's Seconds. This is the follow-up to Scott Pilgrim, and if you're familiar with that at all I'll just leave it at that. It's a more mature story about an older (compared to Scott) 20-something woman who desperately wants to have a perfect life, and the kinds of pressures adults are under to succeed.

If you want fantasy, Mistborn is an excellent place to start.

The Dresden Files would be great too. It's an urban fantasy about a wizard who is sort of like a noir private eye.. but he's a wizard.
