Go to bed early and wake up an hour or two before you have to go. That will give you plenty of time to wake up and get through your morning routine without rushing. Once you get used to that you'll speed up the process over time naturally, eventually getting things down to a far more efficient timetable.

Having something you need to accomplish. During the week, I'm up between 4:30-5 so I can get to work a few hours early. If I don't have plans for the day, I can't force myself out of bed until like 9 or 10.

I really do believe that's it's a matter of conditioning yourself. And the willpower.

Rightfully said, if you're a night owl, the best thing to correct the habit would be NOT to sleep the entire following day until 10pm. By the time you reach 9pm, you'd be drained of all energy; you shouldn't have any problems sleeping and waking early in the morning.

But since it's the habit of being a night owl, this sudden change will be exhausting. Give it a week; persevere and you'll get there.

Much like anything else in life, nothing comes easy and no benefit is gained without a cost.
