Looks like we got a really long time to finish the DoC event. That's good because I haven't had much time to play lately. I still got to finish the FFVIII event.

I don't like how the dungeon update happened while I've been so busy but I should have some time to make use of it before it goes away.

Beat the Valigarmanda nightmare dungeon, only Guardian left to go. Power creep has definitely helped!

Decided to pull on one of the VIII banners before they went away, due to my rather abysmal synergy in that realm. Got Seifer's Gloves, Seifer's Guise, and Squall's Axis Blade. Guess it's time to egg up Seifer.

Ultimates mastered, probably the easiest ultimates since Apoc+ was added, you don't even need shellga for these guys since they're all physical. Cait Sith is level 67 and he didn't even hold me back, which shows how easy these chumps are.

Crimson Hound only has 200k HP and you only need to kill him to win this fight. Mako Might on Cloud + USB + Hailstorms=done.

Azul was easy as well, I Cid Mission'd this with Cloud, Tifa, Cait Sith, Rufus (as a second white mage for help with the aoe attacks) and Aerith. I used Lion's Burst as a RW and that really crippled his offense. Once Tifa used her USB and Aerith had her burst up with medicas he couldn't do enough damage to be any threat.

Shelke was the same except I swapped Rufus and Aerith for Tyro and Relm. I had Cloud use his USB and Lion's Burst, so he could do attack/def breakdowns and DPS. Tifa kept using Lifesiphon and her USB to have constant hastagas to counter Shelke's dispells. Her Ultimate Low Thrust hurts bad even after all the breaks (then again I have no FF7 armor) but Relm's USB easily recovered from that.

I brought Barret (let the poor guy get some action for once) with his Pentabreak SSB to further mitigate it, because its damage was pretty insane. We're talking 3000AoE after Power Breakdown and Full Break (and irrelevant Wall+Protectga) here. And she loves spamming the hell out of it.

Your base defense stats actually matter against those moves, it's wall/protectga and buffs from stuff like Ramza's BSB1 and Raines' BSB that those moves ignore. They should be called piercing attacks since that's a more accurate term.

Oh I also forgot I have Aerith's ribbon as FFVII armor, should have remembered that since Cait Sith was taking blows better than Relm.

Looks like we're getting the missing bosses from Summer Festival tomorrow, need the 5* motes so I can finally get that dualcast LM for Raines!

There are some moves that just ignore buffs (Omega Drive Nightmare comes to mind), but Shelke's Ultimate Sky Rend completely ignores defense.

After a quick look at the AI thread over on Reddit, I did some math and got pretty much the damage I was experiencing.

Warning: Math

Ultimate Sky Rend (400%, ignores defense, uses Atk^0.5)
In weak form, Shelke has 1150 Atk.
With Full Break (×0.85) and Power Breakdown (x 0.8), that's down to 782.
The physical damage formula below soft-cap for enemies is "(Multiplier x Atk^2) / Def^0.84"

Since we're ignoring Defense, and using sqrt(782) as the value for Atk, Ultimate Sky Rend would do 4 x (sqrt (782))^2 = 4x782 = 3128 damage. Which is pretty much what I remember from my run (see my previous post where I talked about 3000 AoE damage).

Well I guess you learn something new everyday I suppose, guess I had a hard time believing that armor didn't do anything when a level 67 Cait Sith survived that attack, but I guess he's still pretty hefty on HP even at a lower level.

I beat Rufus, I almost one shot him pretty easy with the Cloud/Ramza chant combo but I got a bit too loose with SG and his Mako Cannon did 4500+ damage to my party so I had to reset. Then he and Dark Nation started being an RNG bitch and I remembered I forgot Banishing Strike on Ramza to get rid of his hastes, I had to keep resetting until he stopped killing one character and have stoneskin or Prishe's super up to give some breathing space. I finally beat after the RNG wasn't too bad but his Mako Cannon still hurts like hell even after the break and wall/protect are up so I had to keep a medica soul break on Prishe/Relm ready for it.

I'll probably do the torment dungeons tomorrow since I still wanna farm some black orbs from the dailies.

Regarding your Cait Sith, he was likely in the back row, which still cuts damage by half.

Seifer stomped, so much easier than Rufus, other than the aoe Fira doing big damage before wall he had nothing noteworthy. My Raines/Fujin mage team made short work of him.

Beat the d200 torment dungeon earlier today as well, pretty easy thanks to the holy weakness and Fujin's burst entry's magic breakdown, been a while since Raines got to go on town since there's surprisingly been very few bosses weak to holy/dark recently. I'll probably do the d250 tomorrow since I want to farm summoning orbs with the rest of today's stamina.

Also seems like there's no weekly event this week because of the newcomers dungeons. Bummer. Seems like dataminers also found that the Rubicante event is delayed to September for some reason.

Finally started going through some backlog: went back to Reraise Nightmare and finally mastered, mastered Neo Bahamut 1st try, and the one I'm really happy about mastered CM Mote Ifrit 1st try! Squall OSB/Rinoa BSB/Irvine pentabreak/Quistis hastega/Selphie medica-mblink with RW SG, no one died although there were some close calls. I got really lucky though as he didn't use Meteor at all

ok that was quick, super easy CM on Dahaka. Lightning BSB2/Fang BSB/Sazh nothing/Cid Raines BSB/Vanille SSB with RW Rikku USB. He got staggered fairly quick and didn't do any form-shifting attacks until the end when it was too late. Was only gonna do this one tonight but that was so quick I'll have a go at Magus Sisters

edit: train keeps a rollin, CMed Magus Sisters, Jecht BSB/Seymour BSB/Wakka BSB/Paine SSB/Yuna SSB with RW Rikku USB. One delta attack got off but Miracle Veil was ready to go. Red Soul next

I want Cloud's BSB2 really bad but the current banners that have it wouldn't be wise pulls. I have most of the best prizes on Vincent 2 from previous banners (and there's some major duds on that banner as well) and the newcomer banner sure as hell ain't worth 50 mythril.

It's the last thing I need for the uber Zack/Cloud USB combo, it's not coming back on the Rude/Elena banners either so I guess all I can do now is hope it shows up in a fest.

This boss still sucks major ass with all of his gravity attacks, and you have to shave 470k HP before he uses Ultimate Gravity Beam 6 times, I'm so lucky I got Marach's BSB from the last Lucky Draw. Stalled for meter on the first phase, and once the second barrier went down I used Relm's USB and then had Raines and Marach instant cast their BSB entries to kill him ASAP.

Sweet Revenge since I wasn't able to master this guy back in the event he was a Ultimate++ (through granted I have 1500 of those 5 star upgrade materials)

So close to Raines' second Legend Materia...

Anavapta wasn't too bad, thanks to Yshtola's BSB. Instant cast Curajas on command 1, and the damage shield for some additional safety. That was good enough to mostly neuter his HP1 bullshit. Other than that, it was a matter of packing enough Lightning abilities to not see that attack 6 times. KO resist acessories on everyone also help a lot.

So, for me that meant 3 lightning dps (I took Lightning, Fang, Hope), Tyro with SG on support duty, Yshtola for healing and a Rikku RW.

Dullahan was cake, Papalymo was dishing 7000x 6 with his burst command, and thanks to the all the Relm/Mog stuff I got from the last FF6 event my mage team had high mind so aoe stop wasn't even that big of a deal, except Tyro. Poor guy was stuck in stop for the rest of the fight after the first northern cross, but Papalymo made such short work of Dullahan I didn't need to refresh wall.

We're gonna need a new topic soon, but I can't really think of a title since Dena is shuffling the events again, unless you want to make the title about how Dena is goofing up.

CMed Mote Red Soul, Maria BSB/Guy SSB/Gordon SSB/Leon Unique/Minwu BSB with RW Indomitable Blade. That imperil-en-earth combo worked wonders.

and CMed Mote Ahriman, OK BSB/Refia SSB/Desch unique/Ingus nothing/Arc unique and SSB with RW Wall. Bit of a grind with DPS but was never really in danger of dying.

That's all the Mote Dungeons! One thing to take off the backlog. Now to work on Rebirth before going back to Nightmare

Larsa BSB, or Status Blink in general, made Dullahan a joke. I just added 3 random characters with Fire damage and Tyro for Wall, RW Shout, and easy victory.

Beat Garuda, he was really easy this time, while my FF3 synergy has improved due to Lucky Draws his attacks were surprisingly weak. Vaan BSB seemed like overkilled so I had him use USB + Thief Revenges midway through the fight. Too bad you had to hit with a jump attack to get full medals which I why I brought Lunneth for his OSB (wanted to go mage with Fujin and Alphinaud) but he still did 99999 damage even without wind attacks to boost it.

Also the FF13 lucky draw is probably the first lucky draw I'm skipping, my FF13 synergy is pretty much set outside of Lighting relics, and I never have any luck with those.
