I KNEW this job sucked, people kept saying "no stick it out for another year", NOPE

1) My boss of over 1 year didn't even recognize me

2) Manager dropped f-bombs at a new partner on board at the firm, still here

3) Another partner lashed out at a CFO behind his back saying he's incompotent. The sad/hilarious part was the whole conversation was "accidentally" screen shared to the CFO

4) everybody cries

5) Different partner has no clue of the members of his team

Time to jump ship! Can't afford this outrageous car insurance of 600/month anymore, gonna try to work out with the dealership what to do. I'd honestly prefer to just pay the car payments and cancel my insurance, keep the car in the garage but I can't get away with it. Also that brings my car expense from 245 a month to 877 if I include the insurance :/

The real world is tough, idk how people live like this everyday. You get miserable and then take it out on innocent people around you smh. Unemployment/part time work & uber looking real good rn

They had some bs about me being in a cheaper place during college and since I was technically in Boston MA (Permanent resident) They lumped all of the money I "owe" for not saying I'm from Boston

In other words, I went to school in western mass, used their cheaper rates for years, once I got this car I needed to update address to reflect new place I live. Now insurance companies know I live in Boston where everything is expensive for no reason

It's more expensive because in Boston you're way more likely to have your vehicle damaged than a small city in western Mass. That's kinda obvious.

this topic is definitely getting turned into a car insurance topic and it should as that could really help you.

You as a consumer have the ability to choose what you purchase and unless you're binded by contract, which you're probably not, you absolutely should shop around and get the best rate. Call any other insurance provider and get a quote. If they offer you a better rate than take it. Better yet, ask them if you can call back later to complete the order. Then call another new provider and see if they can best the rate you were just given.

You already mentioned the idea of abandoning insurance all together. You mind as well get a really shitty insurance package so you can at least legally keep the car on the road. Or get something good, but less expensive. I'm sure you have more options than you believe, but don't delay. Every day that goes by is more money out the window. I've changed insurance providers multiple times and they will usually pro-rate refunds when cancelling if you've paid upfront.

public accounting. Literally luck based on if you get a group you like or hate. I got very unlucky and plan on putting in my 2 weeks very, very soon

I'm definitely going to work on getting cheaper insurance, that's for sure!

Actually thought about this, I may just move to western mass. It's cheaper and less crowded. Boston is being over run with college kids who have affluent parents and it's changing dramatically. finding affordable housing is insane/almost impossible

I just need to find a cheaper provider. unfortunately geico is the cheapest as I confirmed calling multiple providers (Progressive wanted 1000/month.. allstate 800)

I have a clean record and it bothers me I'm just giving away free money I will never benefit from. A lot of free money

there are way more than 3 auto insurance providers. you really should try to do more research to save yourself some dollars.

The dealership can't help with the insurance. For some reason, in Mass, Amica was the most reasonable insurance when I lived there.

well 632/month (Full coverage on 2013 honda civic, still very very high)

anyway I just gave up at this job, doing the bare minimum. None of the work we do matters (verifying procedures are being followed, who the fuck cares) and i am having difficulty sleeping lately. I do have an interview lined up but I just think accounting sucks in general for regular businesses and the professional world. I feel like I just grew to hate corporate America the more I worked in it. After just completing a cash audit with literally half a million in front of me I just don't think the money is worth the stress/anxiety it gives me. There is literally no training, you go into a new client and "fake it til you make it". this causes a bunch on unqualified people to perform jobs they can't perform.

The structure of automatic promotion after 2 years sounds great but you won't really learn much in those 2 years, instead I basically learned how to make a castle using pieces of a hut and it's frustrating. where are the people that actually know this shit and want to try and help people become on the same level?

Sorry, I just had a very unfortunate past 6 months. That or I was just stuck in the most understaffed/dysfunctional group in my region

May just go back to retail, I actually liked the stress of dealing with people rather than things I have no idea how to complete. Also miss the constant moving. yea the hours and pay are worse but I'll hopefully find a decent government job

Most people don't live like that though.

What do you do and why is it so bad?

Yeah, I was going to say... that's unusually bad, and I used to work for GS many years ago.
