I like the variety and subreddits, but hate the design.

Also, the upvote/downvote system is annoying, which led to circlejerking and constant reposts just to farm karma.

Honestly, I really only come to GameFAQs just to post on PotD. I hardly ever use the walkthroughs or guides.

The one thing GameFAQs has over Reddit is a sense of community. Posting on PotD, you get to know people.

In fairness, I do visit reddit to talk about Pokemon Duel, since the board here is pretty dead. But the mods on that sub are absolute nazis, and it's done nothing to make me want to explore any other subs.

This. It's nice to aggregate sites/comments and the ones that users like but it does give way to a type of circlejerking.

Y'all need to get off the popular subreddits if that's what you see.

Yeah, the upvote system stucks. You can't even talk politics in the politics subreddit. They really need to do something about that.

People will agree with the masses and it's so fuckin annoying. I swear you can say the dumbest shit ever and if it has a bunch of upvotes 9 times out of 10 somebody will just upvote the comment anyway, without having any idea what the post was about

you think the political side is bad (it is) try the tax/business lol...... so many upvotes on misinformation

that is by far the biggest (and my only) main issue with the side

I've been using Reddit for over two-three years now, posted extensively, and still find it annoying to have to look at the indentation of the message to even see who the person is responding to, to close/open conversations, or click "load more comments" just to see what other people have to say.

Not to mention that circlejerk-upvoting hivemind comments so they'll rise to the topic and downvoting-to-hell comments that are quite-often very intelligent and thought-out.

It's a place where you best agree with everyone and say good things about others, or RIP your inbox. Not to mention that people stalk other peoples' comment and downvote them, just because they previously angered you.

But it's still a good place to find cat pics and help on various topics.

It's ridiculous how much you get modded here over hurt feelings when you don't even say anything that bad.

Reddit is a pile of turds. Their format sucks and the only thing they had going for them was their previous reputation as an open forum. Anyone that continues to visit the site after they were caught changing posts is just begging to get trolled, their credibility is 0.

Don't use Reddit, but from what I see I prefer the GameFAQs format better for the layout of posts in a topic.

And I don't need to use Reddit to agree that upvote/downvote is a bad idea. MAYBE for a topic/thread as a whole, its ok. But definitely not for individual posts.
