Those are some AWESOME stats. Yep I assumed ESBC was the most common order, but then I thought maybe it was just because it's the order I took.

Makes perfect sense that Elephant's always first, I'm surprised there's such a mix for the rest though.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised that Rito isn't more dominant early.

Unrelatedly, I decided to go after the monster medals. I got the Molduga and Talus ones, but I'm apparently missing one Hinox despite being essentially positive I've done each of the ones on the map. Guess I have to check all 40 again...

The Hylian Shield lasts for an extremely long time, and if it breaks, you can buy it from a merchant if you complete a certain sidequest.

I totally understand the Zora dungeon being first so much across the board. It's the closest to where the story quest takes you for Impa and Hateno. I ran into Prince Sidon the first time by accident just coz I wanted to get to Lanayru tower.

Man, I'm watching these cutscenes which are supposed to be all super serious with characters now voiced and they're talking to Link and he just stares back awkwardly saying nothing. Just give Link a voice actor already.

Also, where do I get more heat and cold resist gear so I can tough out these other areas better.

Cold resist: Rito store
Heat resist: Sidequest before Gerudo town for a non-upgradeable set, secret Gerudo store (access after a sidequest) for an upgradeable set
Fire resist: Goron store (one piece is also available from a sidequest offered by a guy on the road to the Goron town)

Loved that temple.

I took it nice and slow the first half. Then I decided "fuck it" and ran straight through the middle of the second half

It was only when I had the lasers of 20 guardians pointed at me did I realize that I had no food, and that I'd be forced to start over if I was hit by even one.

Somehow, I made it through. Super awesome.

If I did it again, I'd do Rito bird first or second. Good early, not as valuable when you only get it late... damn it would have made a ton of earlier stuff easier.

After I did Zora elephant first, I thought the game was steering me to Goron Salmander so I purposefully said "**** that" and went to the camel and then (2 weeks and a Hyrule castle victory later) the bird and did Salamander last.

I like seeing the variety though, even if there are some heavy tilts.

You didn't have to teleport, you could just run to the wind tunnel and fly back out. Still pretty nerve wracking.

My first Major Test was easily my toughest combat hurdle to clear. At that point, it had the ability to OHKO me and I didn't have much food on hand. Once the Major Tests became easy though, I've yet to find any more significant hurdles. Lynels are definitely tougher, but you can just win by attrition through your ever-growing food supply.

But man, that fucking Silver Lynel last night. If Nintendo limits cheap food heals in the hard mode DLC, we are in trouble. I had fully maxed Ancient Armor (84 defense) and 18 hearts, and I think it could have killed me in TWO HITS. That said, the payoff was pretty sweet, as it dropped a Savage Lynel Sword with 100 attack. Couldn't believe it when I saw it.

I haven't found major tests or lynels to be that hard once I learned their pattern. I take less hits from them than Bokoblins that attack more erratically. It also makes it easier to get perfect dodges in them. The biggest hurdle is having strong weapons so you don't break a dozen of weaker ones trying to wear them down.

6 map regions uncovered/explored
2 beasts

Seems about a third of the games content, but I'm missing a lot of koroks if that's proportional.

Pretty much everything thematically points to the Fallen Branch.

Royal Family has the Triforce, which is a theme of the Fallen Branch.

Royal Family doesn't even know what the Triforce is, suggesting they have had it for so long that it has merely become synonymous with a divine power passed down through their bloodline. This is already a plot point in the Fallen Branch.

Ganon is a mostly-mindless monster. Calamity Ganon is the natural progression of Ganon as a beast, which is what the Fallen Timeline is all about.

Ruto and Nabooru are both known as Sages, and both did battle with an "evil man" (who matches the description of Ganondorf). As far as we know, this only happened in the Adult and Fallen Branches -- the ghostly Ancient Sages took care of Ganondorf instead of Saria, Darunia, Ruto, Impa, and Nabooru in the Child Branch.

The Lost Woods is in the north, which is exclusive (and iconic) to the Fallen Branch.

Aonuma has stated, pre-release, that this game takes place in a Hyrule where Ganon has attacked "many times". Not counting BotW, Fallen Branch = 7-8. Child Branch = 1-2, +1 for Ganondorf II. Adult Branch = 3.

Lynels are exclusive to the Fallen Branch so far, but this is weak evidence.

There are clearly mini-timelines that fit together

OoT -> MM -> TP
|
V
WW
|
V
PH
|
V
ST

Is made explicit by their games

ALttP -> LA -> ALBW -> TH -> LoZ -> AoL
Is made explicit by those games

TMC -> FS -> FSA
Is made explicit by those games

And obviously OoA and OoS are directly connected

You can make the argument that these timelines are all independent of each other and that compiling them is BS fanservice, sure, but these individual groupings are very clear

Correct. The flooding happens in the Adult Timeline, as Zelda sent Link back to his childhood to live out his life (thus creating the Child Timeline), thus there is no descendent of the Hero going forward, so next time Ganon strikes the only option is to flood the world until the Goddesses can basically scrape together another Hero lineage

101/120
134/900
12/12
4/4

I finally started sensing the first signs of side-content burnout, so I beat the fourth dungeon (camel). As was expected, the interior was so similar to the others that it's difficult to rank/differentiate these dungeons as a whole. They all follow the same formula (map -> five terminals -> boss fight). Apart from the "malice eyeballs" and maybe some throwaway Guardian Scouts, they have no enemies, and none of them had music memorable enough to make a lasting impression. The dungeons clearly aren't a main focus, but I wish they would have tried a bit harder to make them more memorable, like by locking one of the terminals behind a unique miniboss or something.

Since I don't feel like I can rank the dungeons as a whole, I'll just rank some arbitrary parts of them:

Dungeon Entrance Sequences
1. Elephant
2. Bird
3. Camel
4. Salamander

Dungeon Bosses
1. Camel
2. Salamander
3. Bird
4. Elephant

Divine Beast Map Manipulation
1. Bird
2. Elephant
3. Salamander
4. Camel (they just ran out of ideas here lol)

There's really no clear "best dungeon." If I had to pick, it might be Camel because of the great boss fight and maybe the most clever internal puzzles, but eh, if someone picked Elephant solely because of the incredible entrance sequence, I wouldn't fault em at all.

I'd say I agree with those rankings. I'd probably rank Elephant first just because of the entrance sequence, and I also liked the manipulation. With the Bird it was really cool being up so high and moving around. Camel had the most challenging boss and puzzles. Salamander...looked cool climbing around.

I could go for that.

I'd also say they could have added some normal dungeon, totally optional, with a bevy of treasures at the end. Make it a bit tough so that it would be hard to tackle right away, but open up shortcuts as you complete key portions of it so you can easily/intuitively resume the dungeon when you want to return. I could totally go for a Gleeock fight.
