and one more to whomever snatches at it first, to finish the list for the night. I'm going to bed. (Sign for it first so nobody else tries to claim it.)
Oh, and anything that's outstanding when I get up tomorrow and get around to taking care of the overnight is going to get ranked by me so that I can do the resort. The first time I did that (between round 2 and round 3) I just filled in the blanks with 3s, but it left some unsatisfying results. I want to actually fill in all the gaps before we go into our third and final wave of two cycles.
So todbot, CG7, MP, and whoever signed up for something at some point today and hasn't finished it, it would be super awesome if you could do your ranking kinda soonish.
Gerudo Valley is definitely one of OoT's better songs, but to go on a totally non-related to VGMusic aside (I need to write about something to pass the time before I move on!), I'm glad it is, because trying to practice the Gate Skip for speedrunning OoT was... quite the painful process for me, but thankfully I could listen to this during all that.
Trine - Crystal Caverns
This is somewhere around average. I liked it to begin with, but I guess I kind of expected it to... go somewhere it never did. So it never left average territory.
Sonic the Hedgehog - Scrap Brain Zone
Scrap Brain Zone is no Marble Zone, or a-lot-of-zones-from-S3&K but it's okay.
Conker's Bad Fur Day - Sloprano
You can't see it, but I'm lamenting the fact that I can't assign negative points over here.
Sword of Vermillion - Statts
I need to be careful to not overreact and rank this the highest just for saving me in comparison. Really though, it's fairly good.
+5: LoZ: Ocarina of Time - Gerudo Valley +4: Sword of Vermillion - Statts +3: Sonic the Hedgehog - Scrap Brain Zone +2: Trine - Crystal Caverns +1: Conker's Bad Fur Day - Sloprano
I'll take more, but I don't think I can take that group that's sitting there because I already had Nightsong in a previous group, so I'll pass on that and wait for later. If I'm wrong, then my mistake, but I'll just wait for now.
-- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? GotD (219/384) Melee v FFX
This is loooong and I question if it needs to be, but it's also really peaceful and just... nice. Makes me perfect sitting in a garden on a warm spring day or something.
MegaMari - Prologue, Title & Final Battle
It's... okay. The beginning is kind of like obnoxious circus music but it gets past that pretty quick. The rest is decent but just unexceptional.
Lotus III: The Ultimate Challenge - Track 3
A bit too... I dunno, bouncy, for my tastes? Might just be the sample quality. In fact I'm pretty sure it is, but the rest of the song isn't fantastic either.
Treasure Quest - He and Beauty
...This isn't Prophecy. Occasionally it has glimpses of... not really brilliance, but of something I'd at least listen to. The rest of it... not so much.
Star Fox - Corneria
Pretty catchy. Really don't like that one effect that sounds like a gear getting caught on something (I think it's supposed to be like... a fake, distorted electric guitar or something?) but I like the rest of the song.
Rankings:
+5 Downstream +4 Corneria +3 Prologue, Title, & Final Battle +2 Track 3 +1 He and Beauty
Will take more if you're still awake.

I'm rather crunched on time, so if anyone wants to take my set, go for it.

You laugh at my Celtic Guardian, until I use my Scapegoat, and then United We Stand, Mage Power, and 3 Axe Of Despairs, with Gaia Power out. 11900/7800
On Friday, we essentially did rounds 1 and 2. I did a sorting after that to determine which were (so far) the strongest and weakest so we wouldn't put #1 against #99, because, well, duh? The goal is to differentiate, not confirm what we already knew. Unfortunately, we had some holes that made that effort a little questionable. Since I plan on re-sorting them again at the end of round 4, this is my attempt to fill those holes by finishing a few of the lists myself. I intend on doing two more rounds, and then we'll see where we end up.
(This is also my second time writing this post, since I fail at managing tabs.)
azuarc, for todbot1 +5 Dire, Dire Docks +4 Dragon Killers +3 MMX Ending +2 Downstream +1 Energy Zone
And I discover first-hand how difficult it is to rank songs of your own choosing. Ouch.
azuarc, for Celtic Guardian 7 +5 Force Your Way +4 Wizball High Score +3 M.I.S.A +2 Gurgu Volcano +1 Kind Memories
Wait, did I just assign a 1 to a Secret of Mana song? *head kerplodes*
azuarc, for MycroProcessor +5 The Race Around the World +4 Teary Edge +3 LoM Title +2 YuRiPa Battle 3 +1 Undersea Palace
Poor Undersea Palace is taking a beating.
azuarc, for th3l3fty +5 Chemical Plant Zone +4 MegaMari Prologue +3 Excalibur +2 Gurgu Volcano +1 Archives
Blah, I just reranked a song, after working so hard to ensure nobody else did that. *tear*
azuarc, for speedyoshi +5 Dire, Dire Docks +4 Ruins of Silence +3 Kinetic Harvest +2 The Final Showdown...? +1 Hepatica
Eesh, buncha slow songs. And I may be singularly responsible for keeping Hepatica out of the top tier of the list. Oops.
azuarc, for ytterbium_70 +5 Pleasure +4 Kind Memories +3 Space Journey 2 +2 Mute City +1 Beat Them Up!
I feel bad taking a list away from ytterbium, since he's done a bunch already, but I'm on a mission to make sure none of the songs have more than one hole, and this means unfortunately this pack had to get done. I'm more than happy to give you more songs, bud.
And now that that's done, I can determine the final heats for the last two rounds. More lists coming for people who asked for them in a few.
Once again, I have not touched anyone's lists from round 4, so the following people still have songs to rank: Jeff Zero, Ed Bellis, TheKnightOfNee, KP, Mega Mana, TheArkOfTurus, and KirbyDamasta.
Yoshi, consider them placeholders because I needed to put in rankings for something I was doing. If you want to rank them yourself, I'll happily replace my surrogate rankings with your real ones.
That was an accident xp. Replace Silver Will with:
Dungeon Fighter Online - Hamelin
Keep the rest the same.
Sorry to rush you, Mycro. I didn't think things would move quite so fast, but I also know that at this rate they'll peter out pretty quickly too. I'm not going to press real hard on the last two passes because I'll need a few days after tomorrow before I can compile the results and do whatever version of write-ups you're getting.
TheArkOfTurus:
Romancing Saga - Beat Them Up!
Dynasty Warriors 4 - Eve
EverQuest - Felwithe
Raptor: Call of the Shadows - Four
Treasure Quest - He and Beauty
Vengeful_KBM:
Perfect Dark - Chicago (Stealth)
Super Mario 64 - Dire, Dire Docks
Braid - Downstream
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - King Dedede's Theme
Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes - Unification of the Land
+5 Eve +4 Beat Them Up (Gigantic gap) +3 He and Beauty (I enjoyed... Parts of it? A lot more than I can say about the bottom two songs.) +2 Felwithe +1 Four
+5 Re: Your Brains +4 Excalibur +3 Primitive Power +2 Prologue +1 Strawberry Crisis!!
I find Re: Your Brains way more funny than I probably should. Exalibur is neat (though Space Journey and Crash and Burn are better), Primitive Power and Prologue are decent. Strawberry Crisis is the worst kind of crisis.
More, please.

"The courtroom is the garden of holy judgment. Those with lechery in their hearts should leave this sanctuary at once!" ~Franziska von Karma
+5 MegaMari - Prologue, Title & Final Battle +4 Epic Pinball - Excalibur +3 Goldeneye: 007 - Archives +2 Final Fantasy - Gurgu Volcano +1 Chemical Plant Zone
one decent song, three meh songs, and one crime against humanity
-- thelefty for analysis crew 2008 imo -tranny I have a third degree burn in flame-o-nomics -Sir Chris
+5. F-Zero - Mute City (I'm kind of suprised this was at the top, but the other 4 aren't that great) +4. Romancing SaGa - Beat Them Up (Tense) +3. Space Journey 2 - Tyrian Theme (This fast-paced song is actually sort of neat, but outclassed by the other 2 by a small margin) +2. Phantasy Star 2 - Pleasure (Eh. Couldn't drive much pleasure from this song) +1. Secret of Mana - Kind Memories (that accordion or whatever I think it is really ruins it all)

HK-47: The very best there is when you absolutely positively have to kill every meatbag in the room. Accept no substitutes!
+5 Fire Aura +4 Title Theme +3 Glade Action +2 Stigmata +1 Boss Battle
Fire Aura's one of the biggest surprises of this topic for me, really good song. Title Theme and Glade Action are pretty good too. Not a big fan of Stigmata, and Boss Theme is just... bad.
More, please.

"The courtroom is the garden of holy judgment. Those with lechery in their hearts should leave this sanctuary at once!" ~Franziska von Karma
Huh. This is actually really pretty. Gorgeous, even - the more I listen to it the more I want it to keep going, despite its length. Reminds me of Lord of the Rings mixed with a Civil War movie or something (and a little bit of The Stand). Very nice.
+4 Chicago (Stealth)
Never heard this before, but it makes me REALLY want to play Perfect Dark.
+3 Dire Dire Docks
I'm actually arranging this for piano and violin for a good friend's wedding. She's very excited.
+2 Unification of the Land
Tries a little too hard, but it's a good track. I really like the section at 1:30 - if the whole thing had been like that it might've ranked a little higher.
+1 King Dedede's Theme
You gave me *really* f***ing good competition, or else this might've ranked a little higher, if just for sheer hilarity's sake.
+5 Castle Crashers - The Race Around the World +4 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue - Ascend to the Heavens +3 VVVVVV - Positive Force +2 Legacy of the Wizard - Dragon Killers +1 Elemental Master - Blood-Stained Lake
Fairly solid round.
Please, sir, may I have another?
Also, fifty ranked:
