I would agree with "face exploding complexity."

But considering how many plot lines were left completely unexplained or unresolved by the end of the ARG, and since it all only resulted in getting Portal 2 a few hours early, I think "genius" might be overstating things a bit.

I think you're not evaluating Valve's genius with the Portal 2 arg correctly. Valve got thousands of people on the internet to jumps through SO many hoops.... for barely anything. A couple of hours early release. That's it. That's ****ing genius.
