so i didn't know that if you beat Shingen or Kenshin the other joins you... and specifically, ONLY the other joins you. now i went with Shingen because he seemed easier (especially with the water/grass leaders having their pokemon evolve too) and i recruited everyone there. now... did Kenshin have any specific leaders that i need to hunt down ala gold ones? ....and do i get to replay this intro chapter eventually so i pick the other one?

yeah, the ffta comparisons REALLY do not fit. besides this game not being terrible, the only thing it has in common is that it uses sprites and is colorful. that's... really it. it's actually very much so what you'd expect when you think of pokemon/samurai warriors crossover in an SRPG format. pokemon being the dominant portion, koei's secondary. i wasn't sure what to expect out of it and couldn't really imagine it, but playing through this game says that this is... right to what that mix ought to be like. some tweaks here and there that can use improvement (especially speed, goddamn), but they've got everything right.

Yes, Aya and Kanetsugu. Aya has a Cubchoo, Kanetsugu a... Kirlia? I think.

And I don't think you get to do the main story over again, for some weird reason. You can re-do all the episodes as many times as you want, but not that.

You can re-do the main story and the second time it gives you a NG+. Oichi outlines it when you finish the main campaign. At least that's what I gathered by paying minimal attention so take me at face value.

You can still get her. I got everybody but her when I battled Shingen and she showed up in another place a battle or two later. By the way Kunoichi from Kenshin's side is a Warlord too I think. You can get her outside of the Kenshin battle too.

Hmm... Granted, I'm still on the main story since I've been trying to get as many warriors their Perfect Links as possible, but from reading around on the game board, the only way to get back to the Hero is to beat the 32 other post-game episodes. The last episode is apparently about the same as the main story, though, so perhaps it'll have the same option where you choose between Illusio and Terrera. That last episode is re-playable, I know that.

I didn't get Kai or that guy Warlord even though I used a Warlord and finished them off with super effective attacks. I guess I took too many turns or something or they have different conditions.

oh i know of Kunoichi, she was one of the reasons i went not Kenshin. Yukimura influence from Sengoku Basara has me wanting this guy to fly around with spears and stuff. i also highly doubt Kenshin can have something as amazing as that Rhyperion.

but Kunoichi's damn good. 90% link rates with Scraggy and Sandile, yes please.

Wanglicious, regarding Shingen and Kenshin: I battled Shingen and ended up recruiting both of them. I assume that the one you don't fight is an automatic join; the one you do join probably has the standard recruitment requirements.

Other guys : Never used, except for mining and killing warriors who appear in the countries they're in.

I got the traveling salesman while my main party was camping in Illusio and I just kept skipping months not doing anything anywhere to get Aya to spawn.

Doing nothing somehow feels like it would be a waste. I guess I don't need the stones right away. I'm not even sure what I'll evolve Eevee into. I kind of want more than 1, but don't know if there's a limit to how many the game has. I've never seen any in the wild anyways. Well you can get him one more with the password (and give Oichi one too, since she has a 90% link with them), but other than that, they have a rare chance of appearing in any given turn. A messenger will pop up telling you a rare Pokemon has been spotted in one of the nations. But I'm in Year 39, and that's only happened once.

I don't think any of the Warlords from Cragspur on are recruitable in the main story. They all say they're running back to Nobunaga. Even the standard warriors from those fights aren't recruitable.

The Serebii list Kai has "Defeat in Nation" next to her so I assumed I could recruit her then, but you're probably right about that running away thing since that would make sense. My main team so far is Female MC, Oichi, Ginchiyo, Kunoichi, Shingen and Yoshihiro.

Two Pokemon evolve with the Fire, Water, Thunder, Sun, Moon, Dusk, and Dawn Stones and the Metal Coat. The others only evolve one Pokemon.

Yeah, the post-game is actually where the game really starts. Most of the Warlords in the game have their own episode that fleshes them out more. The main story is like a glorified tutorial in comparison.

Ha, there's already a password generator in existence. But I guess the game only allows you to enter 64 passwords, so you can't go super crazy with it. Well, unless you have a cheat device, as there's a code that resets the password counter.
