In all likelihood, it's going to be the first loss they've had for a full year in around 30 years. Let's hope the loss is less than expected so the stock goes up.

So, list of mistakes Nintendo made over the past year: -Confusing everyone with the Wii U -Terrible 3DS launch -"Miyamoto is retiring aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" fiasco
From: Icon Tang | #006 why would you need to order food for a 2am press release
It's not a whole reason. It's a partial suggestion. I didn't have a chance to go to the grocery store earlier so food supplies are running low anyway. I had debated between going for a second lengthy jog tonight or doing something with the computer.
Nintendo reported losses of 43.2 billion yen, or 532.3 million dollars. Back in January, they had predicted losses of 65 billion yen, so they did a good bit better than predicted back then, mainly because the yen has weakened somewhat since then.
Not sure how these earnings compare to analyst forecasts, or more importantly, what the market was thinking.

Looks like they beat analysts expectations by a bit too- about 10% less in losses than the analyst consensus. But it doesn't necessarily mean much; for example we just saw Netflix stock plunge 14% after beating analyst expectations.

Well, obviously the superior game sold more. I mean, the inferior game there is the worst abomination in the history of video games, so it's not difficult to be superior to it.
*Looks at Wii Sports* Well.......

The PS2 had the benefit of complete domination within a generation, something that is unlikely to happen again with the console situation as it is now. Not even the Wii was able to sell anywhere near the PS2.

Oh I agree that gaming was better in the past. But growth in the number of systems and games sold is the reality. PS2 beat Wii because it had an absurdly huge slice of the pie, but this coming generation, a system may only need to reach the Wii's current market share to beat the PS2.

I wasn't talking about consoles as a whole. The likelihood of another individual system reaching the same level of sales in both hardware and software is pretty unlikely in the coming generation.

300 million for the next console generation should be attainable. We may wind up fairly close to that this generation before it's over, as the 360 and PS3 are still selling pretty well. In that case a console would only need 50% market share to match the PS2.

Nintendo 2 most major problems- 1.Force gamers to use gimmick controls If I want to play Skyward Sword without Motion Plus,or without swinging everything, give me the option to do so If I want to play Spirit Tracks without the touch screen and like a normal 2D Zelda-again,give me the option Even while the controls were good in both of them for me,there are alot of people that don't seem to like them Just...don't force, make a "classic controls" option in all of your games
2.Hating on different consoles - I know it might be ugly to see Mario on Iphone because it's like Nintendo is admitting defeat...but this is the world we live in Mobile games are getting very very popular and releasing games on them can make tons of money
