Do you really think it is disrespectful for him to point out that you would like my # 1 song to me a song you enjoy is something that is a sentiment everyone shares and something that doesn't need to be said?
Also I hand out the classy cheeseburgers around here.

71. What's This (Nightmare Before Christmas) Nominated by ???
Whats this? A song thats catchy but nothing more than that to me! Again I like it alright but Ill be saying this a lot: I just dont have any attachment to this soundtrack, and I guess when I think about it the movie isnt high up there for me either. It didnt bother me or anything and I like the message behind it and Jack is pretty awesome but that cant carry the song very far.
70. Robot Riot (Phineas and Ferb) Nominated by ???
I like this song for no real reason. It just goes well. I havent seen a lot of the show but this song just has a good feel to it and songs dont always need to have an overly complex message or anything. I wish people would have nominated songs from the show that I liked a lot more than these though but I guess thats the risk you take by letting people nominate songs. Oh, and robots are awesome which helps.
69. Only Second Rate (Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar) Nominated by rychu_supadude
This is a pretty bad villain song in that Jafar cant really carry a tune very well. On the other hand it is an excellent throw down of the Genie and really builds Jafar up as super powerful. Ill often speak about being on point with message being extremely important to villain songs and this one is on point, it just suffers from a bland singer. I still enjoyed it, just not as much as I could have if someone whose singing I liked was the one owning Genie.
68. Le Festin (Ratatouille) Nominated by Ermine
This immediately reminds me of the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack, now am I crazy for that or what. Anyway I like this song but again with a lot of songs in this tier it doesnt do a whole lot for me. It is a pleasant listen and something I could listen to a little bit but one of the things people are going to discover about my top tiers is that I usually demand a combination of both pleasant sound, good singing, and a real feeling behind the song.
67. When She Loved Me (Toy Story 2) Nominated by AlphaRayAllen
I can hear some of the boos already. If it makes everyone feel better this is definitely the start of another tier. All of the songs from here I classify as good or above, period. Each may have minor flaws but nothing that really distracts from the song. I think someone mentioned that this song tries a little too hard to pull the heartstrings. That is very true, it really does try too hard I think. I cry a lot during Disney movies and this didnt get to me so yeah. It is wonderfully sung, not surprising given who did the singing, but it didnt do too much for me.
Le Festin is an odd one for me. While I recognize it as objectively good, I personally don't feel a thing for it so it'd undoubtedly be lower on my list. That was me who said When She Loved Me tries a little too hard to jerk those tears btw. Still feel the same way. I think it might've got me the first time, but it never got me again even though it sounds great. What's This? and Robot Riot are both too busy-sounding for me, but I've.grown a bit fonder of You're Only Second Rate for reasons I can't explain. I dunno...
My favorite Disney song of all time is pretty busy- I mean there is a helluva lot going on in Under the Sea, but it still sounds clean somehow. I guess it's the repetition of the same chords or something. Anyway despite my favorite Disney song choice, I tend to prefer more straightforward tracks.
My mind is still kind of brain dead from staying up way too much this weekend, have a single song update:
66. Savages Nominated by ???
This song has some slow moments but the overall message of the song is really good. This song may have been higher if I liked the singing much of all. This song really does a lot to speak to the human condition of both war and what makes people come into conflict with one another. Both sides think just about the same thing about each other and this leads them to be able to demonize the other side and it is really just completely sad. But yeah I dont really enjoy listening to this out of context even though it is pretty good while watching the movie. Songs like this are what make Disney awesome though, so unafraid to examine some pretty hard issues in movies.
So Chris, what I'm getting is that you can stand the sight of worms and look at microscopic germs, but technicolor pachiderms is really too much for you?
SuorGenoveffa posted... Mad Madame Mim >>>>>>>> Mine Mine Mine not even close.
Correct. If we only take vocals into account which I guess Chris and Pram did, then yes Mine is superior, as Mim's voice actress sounds... unpleasant. But that's entirely the point: she's supposed to be this wicked ancient fiend masquerading as a sweet old lady. It's the atmosphere and the context that makes Mim far superior to Mine. Mim is about someone who takes pleasure in doing evil just for the hell of it, which automatically makes it awesome. Mine is about some greedy fat guy, and it's not even sung well.
Also Pocahontas is awesome.
Incorrect. Unless you mean the character, in which case yes. The movie is mediocre.
Speaking of, I can't stand Madam Mim comics. Anyway, part from the movie I remember was... that unfortunate Squirrel and the rest are about Merlin. I should rewatch it, i think I have the DVD somewhere.
