Depends what you mean by broken. I don't think he has a whole tier to himself for instance, but I'm pretty sure he's the strongest character all around without much debate. I'd just call that overpowered though, not broken.

yeah, he is the strongest character in the game but I don't think he is broken.

The thing about MVC is that you can have 1 character that is better than everyone else, but you still need 2 others to fill out your team, so it's still kinda balanced.

Yep. If Brawl were the same way, Meta Knight would probably be a lot more tolerable. Even if both teams are repping Wesker, he's still no more than 33% of the characters in any given match. From what I've seen of Brawl, MK is used considerably more.

hes easy to play but not broken. Very beatable and has a good bit of matchups not in his favor

Thing with MK is he literally only loses or goes even to himself, he beats everybody.

Wesker does not. He's just streamlined and efficient, and faceroll to get the job done.

Nah, Wesker is top tier, but he's not broken nor overpowered. People aren't used to countering him and abusing his weak spots yet.

The placement of Yun and Metaknight is debatable. As I recall, Jun might have one, maybe two negative matchups, and if so, he's weaker than Metaknight as he has a counterpick. If he does NOT, though, move him up to the top, as he's far more dominant than Metaknight against characters he's good against.

Chun Li is my comparison water mark for whether things are sketchy broken. She and Yun have pretty much ruined the meta game at high levels and even at low levels she's really easy to play braindead and pick up lame wins. Even then she doesn't seem broken, just a horrible character with a bad effect on how the game is played.

If you're all in agreement that Wesker isn't as bad as her I figure he's probably fine!

and on the flip side of that, I haven't played much Brawl but Meta Knight must be pretty lame.

Horribly so. It's a character that can't lose, if you assume he's played as well as his opponent. This in the best case scenario of playing somebody who's even with him. Otherwise he beats you super easy.

As has been said, Wesker might just seem less strong than the others (for me at least) because of the nature of the game being 3v3, meaning Wesker has a comparatively lesser effect on the match.

And for that same reason it's also less ridiculous to me to see 6 Weskers in the final 8 than say like 3 Yuns in the final 8, I'd say. Teams are bigger so just because Wesker is on a lot of teams doesn't mean he's carrying most of them.

But I also feel that with some slight nerfs (removing the damage buff he gets when he removes his glasses after one of his ultras or just lowering his health a bit) Wesker simply falls into the top tier, rather than "probably best in the game but not broken." Wesker has a decent amount of bad match-ups and while his gun assist is a good tool it doesn't really control a match like better assists can. Actually Wesker has a lot of bad match-ups, kinda, it's just that he's good against a lot of the meta-game and his bad matches aren't that bad cause he's kinda versatile. I'd say most small characters or characters with a good range game have an advantage over him though.

AE Yun is in no way dumber than 3SChun

Yun there despite the outcry actually did need thought and playtime to be decent with. 3S Chun is about as braindead as Chun's gonna get.

Whenever I play against most things in 3S, I feel like I'm up against the other player. We're thinking about things and trying to figure out what the other guy is going to do, it's pretty neat. When I'm up against Chun, it feels like I'm playing against the character.

"What is my answer to back fierce?"

"Oh she has enough meter, I better start blocking down always."

"I just got thrown four times because I was afraid of her ridiculous normals."

I don't know that I've ever played a really good Yun in AE so I have no comparison though.

What argument can be made for Yun? I guess at least with Chun, there's another character who's as good as her (Yun) and two that are within range and have decent matchups (Makoto, Dudley). Whereas Yun is (was) the unquestioned best character in his game, right?

he was always questioned. Hell people kept saying Fei was better.
Hell there was Talk that Yang had more potential(alas the world may never know).

Basically with Yun he had some stuff with Crazy Frame Advantage or hitboxes, a beastly rushdown offense, and high amount of Mix ups, with the damage to back it up.
