Nope. I still enjoy almost every main line Mario game.

I got bored with Pokemon at Ruby, 10 years ago. Since then, every iteration has been 90% identical in terms of structure & gameplay.

this topic reminds me of how bored I am with HGSS....


I love gold and silver, so it doesn't feel right to not be into it- I remember playing the first ones years ago (with friends, witch added to the experience) and remember it lasting much longer, even though there is more to do in the newer games and it says i've logged lots of hours....

oh well.....

Pokemon effin sucks now. Only a fanboy would say the series is better than mario. At least mario has evolved over the last few decades and provided us with genius gameplay what pokemon done? Absolutely nothing apart from a couple of lame new pokemon.

I enjoyed the first 2 gens but it went down the crapper after that. One of the most overrated franchises of all time.

I'll go a step further and say that the worst Pokemon spinoff is better than at least half of the Mario series(counting spinoffs)..

Id say you should be arrested for such a ridiculos statement. Expected though. B8 overrates pokemon more than the pro pokemon sites on the net.

Mario winning is great justice. Its always good to see pokemon lose.

also, B/W had lots of changes, such as PREVIOUS GEN POKEMON NOT BEING AVAILABLE UNTIL YOU'VE BEATEN THE MAIN GAME. Mind-blowing innovation right there. ZOMG!

Well now the 3ds has an analogue stick do you reckon well get full degree movement?? God i hope so. But knowibg nintendo and gamefreak they will just add some 3d effects with no significant changes.

Its not a perfect formula its an outdated one. I dont want to move in zig zag anymore. Atari games had 360 movement. Also fe and aw are strategy games.

They need to make a full 3d game like colloseum but bigger and no shadow crap.

Pokemon has never actually been particularly interesting. Battling is far too boring (with AI) and min/maxing pokemon or making good teams is WAAAAY too much effort for basically no reward.

Only thing the series ever had going for it was that it had some cool areas and created a fairly interesting world. By this point, though, that hasn't evolved nearly enough to be interesting enough for the god damn 7th (or whatever) time.

The best Pokemon game is better than the best Mario game, but I can think of several Mario games I'd take over Ruby/Sapphire, and Diamond/Pearl. (Not Emerald and Platinum, mind you)

This is my issue as well, it was an absolute revolution back in the late 90's but now it's just an average series. Main series is handheld only and barely any real significant innovation. Last pokemon game i bought was Ruby and i didn't even like that game.

Pokemon was great in its first few generations. Still not on Mario level, but fantastic games. The series has simply failed to evolve (lol?) while Mario has. Galaxy was a ******* masterpiece IMO.

I have never had as much fun with a series as I have with Mario. From the NES to the wii, I've been addicted.

and most of the worlds are very linear and never even give you that sense of scope in spite of the increased level size, you can be in a big level and never see very much of it

yeah but the worlds themselves are broken down into linear sections. Big world is something like Sunshine where you can go and explore and do Star A or Star B, you're not going from Point A to B

if you're never replayed a mario game then you obviously don't find them that fun.

I'm not a fan of Galaxy that much because the way the space levels are set up kind of bug me. The physics, the gravity...that just doesn't work for me. Love 64 and even Sunshine though.
