I only watch comedy shows. Want to get that out of the way before you recommend stuff like Lost and Breaking Bad, because I will not watch them. I don't know why, I just can't get into TV shows if they aren't comedies.

So yeah, obviously I love Community and Parks and Recreation. My girlfriend watches New Girl because she loves Zooey Deschanel, and I was watching it with her and it's pretty funny. Oh and I just caught up with How I Met Your Mother as well (this season isn't that great). I think that's it, any other comedy shows I should be watching?

EDIT: If it's on Netflix, there's a higher chance of me watching it.

Breaking Bad is a dark comedy first and foremost, so if you dig dark comedy you might dig it.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Entourage, Louie, Hung, Beavis and Butt-head, Metalocalypse

I can't say I'm watching anything new from this season, but for newer comedy than Community/Parks and Rec:
The League
Archer
Scooby Doo Mystery Inc.

Also, not a new show but give The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson a try. Most consistently hilarious show I've ever watched; no other show makes me laugh nearly as consistently. Unless you just cannot stand awkward humor in any sense, you'll find some enjoyment in it at least.

Oh yeah, I love It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia but I haven't watched past the 5th season. I should really get the f*** on that.

My gf was also watching Breaking Bad before, and I tried it too... It didn't seem funny at all. It was too serious. Either way, it isn't for me.

I can't. As I said, I don't know why, I just can't get into non-comedy TV shows.

Modern Family

Yeah, no. I watched an episode of this and it was one of the most terrible things ever. That is, until that show that's on after it started and I wanted to gouge my eyes out five minutes into it.

I wouldn't consider HIMYM too new, but that's also a series one can appreciate.

to be fair

comedies are usually easier to get into since jokes are present all throughout

while shows with plot can sometimes take a while to get going

I nearly exclusively watch comedies. I can appreciate a good drama; I absolutely loved Dexter's first season, but I never started the second just because it's a lot harder for me to get myself to sit down and actually watch/get into a drama. Most comedies are easier to leave on in the background and get enjoyment out of without extensively paying attention. Few well done dramas do that for me; about the only non-comedy I really watch like that is Burn Notice which I watch extremely casually at this point. As well, I just have more fun watching comedies. It's a lot easier to motivate myself to sit down for an episode of Psych or Parks and Rec so as to appreciate them just because I know I'll have fun watching it and it'll put me in a good mood.

You should just be happy that you watch Community and give up there. I mean, where is there to go when you've already reached the peak of greatness?

Edit: Factoring in the fact that you seem to obstinately not want to watch anything even remotely dramatic of course. In that case, no Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, or Game of Thrones for you.

I can understand comedies being easier to watch.. I mean 90% of my eventual picks in Netflix are comedies because I know I can just turn it on and stuff will start happening without me having to sit through exposition. But when you're looking for a new series to watch and you disregard Breaking Bad because it's not a comedy... you're making a terrible life decision. Breaking Bad is so much better than any show currently on TV that it's kind of sad. I mean Community is a great show in a completely different way, but Breaking Bad should not be missed by anyone.

I pretty much only watch comedies as well, and Breaking Bad easily has some of the best comedy in current TV (though dark comedy)

Also Friendship is Magic has tons of great "timeless classic" style humor
