Would love to see a scenario where that ever actually leads to a conviction. Conviction rates for rape are already incredibly low due to the whole "innocent until proven guilty" bit, and it's a lot easier to prove normal rape than fingering.

The situation where she doesn't technically ask for it but you do it anyway. Then if she gets moody a few weeks later she can now accuse you of rape.
There is basically no way of providing evidence that you fingered a girl you were intimate with when she didn't want it. If you do it and she reports it the same night or the next day, maybe the conviction will stick, and if she really didn't want it... good. If she accuses you of banging her a couple weeks later, it's probably not going to go anywhere.
This law is for cases where people get groped and molested by strangers or people they know (boyfriends, family members, teachers, etc) against their will. They're basically saying that having someone rape you with a finger or two isn't any less punishable than being raped with a penis, and that's how it should be.

No, because I think of "sexual assault" as someone being a drunk ass and groping a girl at a party. I think of "rape" as someone f***ing a girl at knifepoint in a dark alley.
