Downloading now, might be a while. I'll let you guys know how it is. I'm not even expecting it to be as good as the Wii version with its incredible controls, but who knows, maybe the visuals will surprise me on an HDTV.

From: TheKnightOfNee | #011 So you're one of those people who just buys the same game over and over.
This is actually one of only three games I've purchased more than once. I bought KotOR a second time when it was $2.50, and TF2 several times for friends when it was $2. I just can't resist with RE4, even when it should have been no more than $15.

One minute thoughts: hooooooooly crap, Wii controls BROKE this game. This is way more difficult on a traditional controller. Feels weird after four years of the Wii version. Graphics are very clean though; noticeable improvement there.

From: GranzonEx | #016 Walk up to enemy > stop > aim at knee > melee. It's easy on a traditional controller >_>
It's much easier on the Wii. You have the super knife, the aiming crosshairs are always on screen (so you always know exactly where you'll be aiming when you draw your weapon), and aiming in general is just easier with Wii controls. This is giving me a newfound appreciation for the Wii. HD graphics or not, it definitely has the superior version of this game.

You've never had this happened to you before?
I just got done with 1-1. HD definitely improves some things, but some textures are pretty bad. The Wii controls really spoiled me, they are indeed far superior, not that the aiming with the standard controller is bad, the Wii is just that much better.
Also, I haven't played the game in a little over a year. So I'm quite enjoying another playthrough, even though I've beaten it like 50 times.
.....hm, so basically when the modders get around to this and the PC version gets the unofficial HD treatment, combined with an unofficial driver to use the Wiimote you could get the best of both?

My only minor complaint is some of the audio, mainly the enemies while in-game. The audio just sounds so low quality. All the cutscenes, and other audio, like gun shots and picking up items are fine though. : \
I will say, as a left handed gent, Wii controls always annoy me. I do prefer the Gamecube conrols. I wanna hold the aim thing with my left hand, but I'm also used to using my left thumb to control movement in games, arrg.
I'll definitely get the 360 HD version next time I feel like replaying RE4, or if there's a sale that'd be an incentive too.

Plus, as mentioned Wii's controls just don't work for me since it expects me to use my right thumb to move my character, when every other system has always had me use my left thumb. And I'm only good aiming the wiimote with the left hand, so... I only have one left hand Nintendo.
Luckily Wii doesn't have many games that interest me, so this hasn't been much of an issue.

UltimaterializerX posted... You misrepresent me if you think I'm intentionally trying to piss anyone off. I know this board is Nintendo 8 and all, but people can have dissenting opinions about the Wii without "trolling" or whatever.
Wii controls are superior for two reasons: 1. It's far easier to aim 2. You can move the cursor to where you want to aim, before you press the button to aim. No wasted movement when there are a lot of enemies.
Traditional controller, whether it's the GCN, or the Dualshock, isn't as accurate, and isn't quite as steady.
RE4 Wii, and Metriod Prime Trilogy, quite possibly have the greatest control schemes ever invented....unless you are left handed.
