From: ZFS | #090 Again, not the incredible character people say he is, but he's not bad. Not as good as Balthier or Cloud or Zidane or a bunch of other FF characters, though!
He's better than all of those, actually, but they're all top 6 for the series!

"So cold. I am always by your side." "There ain't no gettin' off of this train we on!"
The entire freaking ending. I... that ending. DAT ENDING. Seriously. My favorite ending in any video game ever. FFX isn't my favorite game or even in my top five (top ten though for sure) but DAT ENDING. It's ridiculously good.

I really like the parts on Mt Gagazet where you find the graves of past summoners. Pretty cool. Wait, are those scenes, or just scenery? Cool either way.
Wow, what a fantastic thread this is. I was looking at all the near-purged threads and came upon this goldmine. It'd be pretty crummy to see it go just yet.
Whoever this Jeff Zero guy is, he has my support.

Now, now. This has evolved past petty rivalries, Leon. I'm sure you can see what is right before our eyes -- it's become the current B8 hub for all things Final Fantasy X. It's become beautiful, like Besaid Island is in FFX-2 is for you and like... oh, I don't know... like Besaid Island is in FFX for me!
This is good, isn't it?

If you guessed "the only FFs X could possibly be better than" you're right!
I like that you put IV and VI on there. I like them, specifically VI, but I feel that they -- specifically VI -- are stupidly untouchable when there are definitely some better games out there.
I do like FFX better than all those games, so you're on the right track. Unfortunately, I like FFX more than all FF games not called VII, Tactics or IX, so too bad about that.

Eh, FFV is one of those games I enjoyed when I played it, but I've had zero desire to replay it since. FFIV, too. Every other game on that list I've replayed at least once, the top 4 more times than I can remember, especially.

Oh well. I can see how it isn't for everyone. I just fell in love with it with the Advance port. Way better localization that did the only thing a game with such a plot can do to improve -- it realized the need not to take itself too seriously.
Those are all great songs, Zazi!

Well, I never played FFV Advance. I played the PS1 version with FF Chronicles.
The game did a lot of things right, I admit. X-Death and Gilgamesh are great villains for different reasons. I love the sense of "Hoooooooly crap it just got real" whenever X-Death showed up, and the feeling like, no matter what you did, he was always one step ahead and you just could not win. Always love those villains that feel unbeatable (Not just villains where the game says they are, but when the game just flat out shows you). Loved FFV's worlds, too. I should see if I can find the Advance version and give it a shot.
I'll be honest though. I'm not a huge fan of the Job System.
Blasphemy, I know, but them's the breaks.
