That's probably all that needs to be said, but allow me to elaborate. Amber is literally the first person you meet in Genshin Impact (besides Paimon.) As you approach Mondstadt with the intent of trying to approach their archon to inquire about the fate of your sibling since all you know is that you'd become separated by some unknown god, your approach is halted by "Outrider Amber of the Knights of Favonius!" Eager, enthusiastic, energetic, but very concerned with these new strangers that have approached, as soon as she sees you are (probably) not a threat to the city, she agrees to escort you back to Mondstadt. She serves as a tour guide as she takes you to the Knights' barracks and then, as the self-professed wind gliding champion of Mondstadt, she offers you your own wind glider so you can better get around. It proves to be the most useful tool you'll gain in all of your days adventuring in Teyvat. Just because she wants you to feel welcome in Mondstadt. Her treatment of you is not unique. Amber is the person who sees the good in anyone, beyond whatever defenses they put in place. She finds and helps Collei when she's on the run from the Fatui and ends up disrupting Ludi Harpastum. She's the one person who cuts through the barriers Eula puts up to keep others away and happy to see her as the despised noble they expect. There is nobody more precious in the world to Eula than Amber, even if she would declare vengeance if you dared to call her out on it. And Amber is the lone person who puts up missing person posters for you after you help Mondstadt with their dragon problem, recognizing that all you want is to be reunited with your sibling. (This holds true even after you help other nations as well.) The only downside to Amber is that because she's the very first character you meet -- and you get for free -- she kinda sucks. Okay, not kinda. She completely sucks. You have to be really determined to want to use her, because she's not adding anything to your team. But she'll sit faithfully on your bench, waiting for the day you need her to...light some torches... Activity: 9/10 -- Amber's a crowd-pleaser. She'll join anything, or invite you to join her for sticky honey roast at Good Hunter. Backup: 8.5/10 -- Wherever there's danger, there'll be Outrider Amber! Conversation: 8.5/10 -- She's got a little bit of Anime Girl Syndrome, but she's certainly easy to talk to. Demeanor: 10/10 -- Nobody's beating Amber in this category. Effort: 10/10 -- She offers to take you to Liyue after everything calms down. She puts up posters for you. It seems like if she's not busy scouting, she'll be there just for you. (Or Eula. Or Collei. Or any of the many other important people in her life. But you're definitely one of them.)
