To be fair, that happens in every case.

And to be more fair, the reasoning usually has some sort of semblance of a coherent argument or rationality. Even trying to accuse the judge of being biased against Trump is more logical than "there's no evidence the business records are false even though the jury has been presented everything and we didn't spend any time trying to explain how the business records are false cause all we did was attack the witnesses and cry about Cohen talking about us on social media".

It basically feels like they're going "the prosecution may have done their job well, however let's throw out the case just cause" as a reason for dismissal, which I imagine is insulting to a judge who takes order in their court seriously and has had his attorneys stall and delay with every tactic imaginable during this time. Judges can get sick of lawyer shenanigans and hold them in contempt.
