I think Mario World is a good candidate because I feel like it's instantly associated with the SNES. If you ask someone to name a SNES game, World is going to be the first a lot of people think of. Like it didn't do anything revolutionary (other than introduce Yoshi, I guess), but I think it's almost ubiquitous with the console, kind of in the way Mario 64 is with the N64. Yeah, I think this is just it. It would be extremely weird to be seeing like a "greatest of SNES" selection and SMW somehow not being on there. It's pretty much the face of the system.
