I think Mario World is a good candidate because I feel like it's instantly associated with the SNES. If you ask someone to name a SNES game, World is going to be the first a lot of people think of. Like it didn't do anything revolutionary (other than introduce Yoshi, I guess), but I think it's almost ubiquitous with the console, kind of in the way Mario 64 is with the N64.

Yeah, I think this is just it. It would be extremely weird to be seeing like a "greatest of SNES" selection and SMW somehow not being on there. It's pretty much the face of the system. Besides, it did introduce many main stays in Mario and has held up perfectly for over 30 years.
